यति (Yeti)

रहस्यमई जीव जंतुओं के श्रृंखला को आगे बढ़ते हैं और आज बात करते हैं हिम मानव यति की। हिमालय के रहस्यमयी जीव हिममानव के अस्तिस्व के बारे में तमाम तरह के दावे किए जाते हैं। स्थानीय लोग हिममानव को येति के नाम से भी पुकारते हैं। यह मानव आकृतिनुमा ऐसा प्राणी है, जिसके अस्तित्व के ठोस प्रमाण तो नहीं मिले हैं, लेकिन कई पर्वतारोहियों और स्थानीय लोगों ने उसे देखने के दावे किए हैं।

पहली बार सन 1832 में पुरातत्वविद जेम्स प्रिंसेप द्वारा प्रकाशित पत्रिका ‘जर्नल ऑफ एशियाटिक सोसाइटी ऑफ बंगाल’ में एक पर्वतारोही का अनुभव प्रकाशित किया। पर्वतारोही का नाम बीएच हॉजसन था। वे उत्तरी नेपाल में हिमालय ट्रेकिंग कर रहे थे, उन्होंने और उनके स्थानीय गाइडों ने कद में 9-10 फीट लंबे और भूरे बाल वाले विशेष प्राणी को देखने का दावा किया था। हॉजसन ने उसे वनमानुश नाम दिया था।

1889 में 'अमल हिमालयाज' में लरिस वाडेला ने एक विशाल दो पैरों वाला भालू जैसा प्राणी देखने का लिखा था। 1925 में जर्मन के फोटोग्राफर तथा रॉयल ज्योग्राफिकल समिति के सदस्य  एम. ए. टोम्बाजी लिखते हैं उन्होंने एक ऐसा प्राणी को देखा जो इंसान की तरह चल रहा है। वो इसे 200 मीटर दूर से देख रहे थे। उसके शरीर पर अधिक मात्रा में बाल थे। दिखने में काला था, उसके शरीर पर कपड़े नहीं थे और उसके पैरों का निशान 7 इंच का था।

इसी प्रकार ब्रिटिश फोटाग्राफर एरिक सिप्टन ने 1991 में हिमालय के नेपाल क्षेत्र में येति को देखने का दावा किया था। उन्होंने येति के पैरों के निशानों की तस्वीरी लीं, जो उस समय ब्रिटेन के प्रमुख समाचार पत्रों में प्रकाशित हुईं। जिसके बाद रहस्यवाद के खोजकर्ताओं के बीच में येति चर्चा का विषय बन गया।

भारतीय सेना के जवानों ने हिमालय में हिममानव के देखे जाने का दावा किया था। 29 अप्रैल, 2019 को जिसकी तस्वीरों को भारतीय सेना ने अपने आधिकारिक ट्विटर हैंडल से शेयर किया था। सेना के जवानों द्वारा किए गए गए दावे की जब जांच की गई, तो बर्फ में किसी विशाल मानव के पैरों के निशान मिले। पैरों की लंबाई करीब 32 इंच और चौड़ाई 15 इंच थी। ये विशाल पैरों के निशान 9 अप्रैल, 2019 को सेना के मकालू बेस कैंप के पास देखे गए थे। इस रहस्यमयी प्राणी को मकालू बरून नेशनल पार्क में पहले भी कई बार देखे जाने के दावे किए गए हैं।

ऐसी ही मामला नेपाल का है। नेपाल के स्थानीय लोगों ने सन 2022 में एक येति को देखने का दावा किया था। लोगों के दावों की जांच करने का जिम्मा नेपाल के वैज्ञानिक मधु क्षेत्री ने लिया। स्थानीय लोगों ने उनको उस जीव के पैरों के निशान दिखाने के अलावा बालों के नमूने भी दिए। वैज्ञानिक मधु क्षेत्री ने स्थानीय लोगों के दावे पर शोध करते हुए कहा कि यह तथाकथित हिममानव एक तिब्बत का भूरा भालू है। भालू भी सीधा खड़ा होकर दो पैरों पर चल सकता है और उसके शरीर पर लंबे भूरे बाल पाए जाते हैं।

हालांकि मधु क्षेत्री के विपरीत स्थानीय लोगों का मानना था कि उन्हें भालू और हिममानव में अंतर पता है, जो उन्होंने देखा वह भालू नहीं था, बल्कि येति था। हिमालय में रहने वाली मूल जातियां येति को अपनी सभ्यताओं का अहम हिस्सा मानती हैं। तमाम दावों और निष्कर्ष के बावजूद हिममानव आज भी रहस्य बना हुआ है।

Continuing the series of mysterious creatures, let's talk about Yeti, the snowman. All kinds of claims are made about the existence of the mysterious creature of the Himalayas, the Snowman. Local people also call the snowman as Yeti. This is a human-shaped creature, for whose existence concrete evidence has not been found, but many mountaineers and local people have claimed to have seen it.

For the first time in 1832, a mountaineer's experience was published in the journal 'Journal of Asiatic Society of Bengal' published by archaeologist James Prinsep. The name of the climber was BH Hodgson. While they were trekking the Himalayas in northern Nepal, he and his local guides claimed to have seen a special creature 9-10 feet tall in stature and with brown hair. Hodgson named him Orangutan.

In 1889, in 'Amal Himalayas', Laris Vadella wrote of seeing a huge bipedal bear-like creature. In 1925, German photographer and member of the Royal Geographical Committee M.A. Tombaji writes that he saw a creature that was walking like a human being. He was watching it from 200 meters away. There was a lot of hair on his body. He was black in appearance, had no clothes on his body and his footprints were 7 inches long.

Similarly, British photographer Eric Sipton claimed to have seen Yeti in the Nepal region of the Himalayas in 1991. He took photographs of the Yeti's footprints, which were published in major British newspapers at the time. After which Yeti became a topic of discussion among the seekers of mysticism.

Indian Army soldiers claimed to have seen a snowman in the Himalayas. Whose pictures were shared by the Indian Army from its official Twitter handle on April 29, 2019. When the claim made by the army personnel was investigated, footprints of a huge human were found in the snow. The length of the feet was about 32 inches and width was 15 inches. These giant footprints were seen near the army's Makalu base camp on April 9, 2019. Claims have been made that this mysterious creature has been seen several times in the Makalu Barun National Park.

Similar is the case of Nepal. Local people of Nepal claimed to have seen a Yeti in the year 2022. Nepalese scientist Madhu Kshetri took the responsibility of investigating people's claims. Apart from showing them the footprints of the creature, the local people also gave them hair samples. Scientist Madhu Kshetri, while researching the claims of the local people, said that this so-called snowman is a Tibetan brown bear. The bear can also stand upright and walk on two legs and long brown hair is found on its body.

Although unlike Madhu Kshetri, the locals believed they knew the difference between a bear and a snowman, what they saw was not a bear but a yeti. The native tribes living in the Himalayas consider Yeti to be an important part of their civilizations. Despite all the claims and conclusions, the snowman still remains a mystery.
