आज डॉक्टर भीमराव अंबेडकर जी (Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar) की 133 वी जयंती है। आज 14 अप्रैल है, जिसे देश के संविधान निर्माता डॉक्टर भीमराव अंबेडकर जी (Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar) के जन्म उत्सव के रूप में मनाया जाता है।डॉ. भीमराव अंबेडकर संविधान सभा की प्रारूप समिति के अध्यक्ष थे। उन्हें मरणोपरांत 1990 में भारत रत्न से नवाजा गया था। 

डॉक्टर भीमराव अंबेडकर जी का जन्म 14 अप्रैल 1891 को महू (मध्य प्रदेश) में सूबेदार रामजी सकपाल एवं भीमाबाई की चौदहवीं संतान के रूप में हुआ था। उनके माता-पिता महार जाति के थे, जिसे उस वक्त अछूत माना जाता था। इस कारण बचपन में इन्हें कई यातनाएं झेलनी पड़ी थी। इसका प्रभाव छोटी उम्र में ही बाबा साहब के मस्तिष्क पर पड़ा। 1908 में उत्कृष्ट परिणामों के साथ मुंबई से मैट्रिक की परीक्षा पास करने के बाद डॉक्टर अंबेडकर ने मुंबई विश्वविद्यालय से राजनीति विज्ञान और अर्थशास्त्र में स्नातक किया। आगे की पढ़ाई के लिए वह विदेश चले गए। 1916 में कोलंबिया विश्वविद्यालय से डॉक्टरेट की उपाधि प्राप्त की और विदेश में अर्थशास्त्र के डॉक्टरेट की पढ़ाई करने वाले पहले भारतीय बने। 

आज 14 अप्रैल के इस दिन को हम अंबेडकर जयंती सहित "समानता दिवस" और "ज्ञान दिवस" के रूप में भी मनाते हैं। अंबेडकर जी की पहली जयंती सदाशिव रणपिसे द्वारा पुणे शहर में 14 अप्रैल 1928 को मनाया गया था और उसी के बाद से अंबेडकर जयंती की प्रथा की शुरुआत हुई। वर्ष 1990 में मरणोपरांत उन्हें भारत के सर्वोच्च नागरिक सम्मान "भारत रत्न" से सम्मानित किया गया। वे अनन्य कोटि के नेता थे, जिन्होंने अपना समस्त जीवन समग्र भारत की कल्याण कामना में निछावर कर दिया।

डॉक्टर भीमराव अंबेडकर अपने जीवन में समानता के लिए संघर्ष करते रहे और इसी कारण वे समानता और ज्ञान के प्रतीक माने जाते हैं। बाबा साहेब भीमराव अंबेडकर पहले कानून मंत्री और भारतीय संविधान के प्रमुख वास्तुकार हैं। बाबा साहब समाज के वंचित वर्गों को मुख्यधारा में लाने के लिए संघर्ष करते रहे। वे समतामूलक न्यायपूर्ण समाज बनाने के लिए आजीवन संघर्ष करते रहे। उनका संघर्ष हर पीढ़ी के लिए एक मिसाल है।

बाबा साहब ने समाज के वंचित वर्ग को शिक्षित व सशक्त किया और हमें न्याय व समता पर आधारित एक ऐसा प्रगतिशील संविधान दिया, जिसने देश को एकता के सूत्र में बांधने का काम किया। बाबा साहब का विराट जीवन व विचार हमारी प्रेरणा के स्रोत हैं।

प्रतिवर्ष 14 अप्रैल को अंबेडकर जी के भारत की स्वतंत्रता में अमूल्य योगदान के कारण अंबेडकर जयंती मनाई जाती है। 2015 में अंबेडकर जयंती को सार्वजनिक अवकाश घोषित कर दिया गया है। बाबा साहब का जीवन सचमुच संघर्ष और सफलता की अद्भुत मिसाल है। जानते हैं बाबा साहब के कुछ अनमोल विचार :

* यदि मुझे लगा कि संविधान का दुरुपयोग किया जा रहा है, तो मैं पहला व्यक्ति हूंगा जो इसे जलाऊंगा।

* जब तक आप सामाजिक स्वतंत्रता नहीं हासिल कर लेते, कानून आपको जो भी स्वतंत्रता देता है वह आपके लिए बेमानी है।

* समानता एक कल्पना हो सकती है, लेकिन फिर भी इसे एक गवर्निंग सिद्धांत के रूप में स्वीकार करना होगा।

* सामाजिक स्वतंत्रता जब तक प्राप्त नहीं है, तब तक कानून द्वारा जो भी स्वतंत्रता प्रदान की जाती है उसका कोई लाभ नहीं है।

* एक विचार को भी प्रसार की आवश्यकता होती है, जितनी कि पौधे को पानी की आवश्यकता होती है नहीं तो दोनों मुरझा जाएंगे और मर जाएंगे।

Today is the 133rd birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. Today is 14th April, which is celebrated as the birth anniversary of the creator of the country's Constitution, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. Bhimrao Ambedkar was the chairman of the drafting committee of the Constituent Assembly. He was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1990.

Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar was born on 14 April 1891 in Mhow (Madhya Pradesh) as the fourteenth child of Subedar Ramji Sakpal and Bhimabai. His parents belonged to the Mahar caste, which was considered untouchable at that time. Due to this, he had to face many tortures in his childhood. This had an impact on Baba Saheb's mind at an early age. After passing the matriculation examination from Mumbai with excellent results in 1908, Dr. Ambedkar graduated in Political Science and Economics from the University of Mumbai. He went abroad for further studies. He received his doctorate from Columbia University in 1916 and became the first Indian to pursue an economics doctorate abroad.

Today, we celebrate this day of 14th April along with Ambedkar Jayanti as “Equality Day” and “Knowledge Day”. Ambedkar ji's first birth anniversary was celebrated by Sadashiv Ranpise in Pune city on 14 April 1928 and since then the tradition of Ambedkar Jayanti started. In 1990, he was posthumously awarded India's highest civilian award "Bharat Ratna". He was a leader of exceptional quality, who devoted his entire life for the welfare of entire India.

Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar struggled for equality throughout his life and that is why he is considered a symbol of equality and knowledge. Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar is the first Law Minister and the principal architect of the Indian Constitution. Baba Saheb continued to struggle to bring the deprived sections of the society into the mainstream. He struggled throughout his life to create an egalitarian and just society. His struggle is an example for every generation.

Baba Saheb educated and empowered the deprived section of the society and gave us a progressive constitution based on justice and equality, which worked to bind the country in the thread of unity. Baba Saheb's great life and thoughts are our source of inspiration.

Ambedkar Jayanti is celebrated every year on 14 April because of the invaluable contribution of Ambedkar ji to the independence of India. Ambedkar Jayanti has been declared a public holiday in 2015. Baba Saheb's life is truly a wonderful example of struggle and success. Let us know some precious thoughts of Baba Saheb:

* If I felt that the Constitution was being misused, I would be the first person to burn it.

* Unless you achieve social freedom, whatever freedom the law gives you is meaningless to you.

* Equality may be a fantasy, but it still has to be accepted as a governing principle.

* Unless social freedom is achieved, whatever freedom is provided by law is of no use.

* An idea also needs propagation, as much as a plant needs water otherwise both will wither and die.
