धर्मशाला (Dharamshala) भारत के हिमाचल प्रदेश राज्य के काँगड़ा ज़िले में स्थित एक नगर (प्रसिद्ध हिल स्टेशन है, जहाँ पर्यटक गर्मियों और सर्दियों दोनों ही मौसम में आते है क्योंकि हिमाचल सर्दियों में बर्फ के सफ़ेद चादर से ढक जाता है और गर्मियों में भी यहाँ का मौसम ठंडा ही रहता है) है। यह ज़िले का मुख्यालय भी है।

वॉर मेमोरियल (War Memorial), (युद्ध स्मारक) धर्मशाला (Dharamshala) का एक लोकप्रिय पर्यटन स्थल है, जो शहर के प्रवेश द्वार पर स्थित है। देवदार के जंगलों से घिरा यह क्षेत्र अद्भुत मनोरम दृश्यों द्वारा सैलानियों का मन मोह लेता है। 

इसकी स्थापना हिमाचल प्रदेश के उन सैनिकों की याद में की गई है, जिन्होंने आजादी के बाद भारत के लिये लड़ाई लड़ी। इस स्मारक की दीवारों पर नक्काशी की गई है और ये शिलालेख प्रदर्शित करती हैं। इस वॉर मेमोरियल में अब तक 1046 शिलालेख लिखे गए। युद्ध स्मारक हरे - भरे पेड़ों के बीच स्थित है और कलात्मक प्राकृतिक दृश्य प्रदर्शित करता है।

वॉर मेमोरियल (War Memorial) का प्राथमिक उद्देश्य उन सैनिकों की स्मृति को स्मरण करना है, जिन्होंने हमारी मातृभूमि की रक्षा के लिए अपना बलिदान दिया। भारत-चीन युद्ध और संयुक्त राष्ट्र शांति अभियानों में शहीद हुए सैनिकों की स्मृति लगभग 24 फीट ऊंचा है, जो कि काले पत्थर के तीन विशाल पैनलों के द्वारा उकेरी गयी है।

वॉर मेमोरियल (War Memorial) की स्थापना शहीदों को श्रद्धांजलि देने के लिए किया गया था। यह स्मारक 1947-48, 1962, 1965 और 1971 में शहीद हुए सैनिकों की याद में बनाई गई है, जिन्होनें देश की रक्षा के लिए अपना सर्वस्व बलिदान कर दिया था। 

चीड़ के जंगल के पास स्थित यह स्मारक धर्मशाला में घूमने के लिए सबसे अच्छे पर्यटन स्थलों में से एक है। हरे-भरे पेड़ों के बीच इस स्मारक की दीवारों पर शानदार नक्काशी के द्वारा शहीदों के नाम अंकित किए गए है। प्राकृतिक सौंदर्य से परिपपूर्ण यह स्थान परिवार के साथ घूमने के लिए एक उत्तम गंतव्य है।

Dharamshala is a town (famous hill station) located in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh state of India, where tourists come both in summer and winter season because Himachal is covered with white sheet of snow in winter and also here in summer. The weather remains cold. It is also the district headquarters.

The War Memorial is a popular tourist destination in Dharamshala, located at the entrance of the city. Surrounded by deodar forests, this area captivates the tourists with amazing panoramic views. 

It has been established in the memory of the soldiers of Himachal Pradesh who fought for India after independence. The walls of this monument are carved and display inscriptions. So far 1046 inscriptions have been written in this war memorial. The War Memorial is situated amidst lush green trees and displays artistic landscapes.

The primary purpose of the War Memorial is to commemorate the memory of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the defense of our motherland. The memory of the soldiers who died in the Indo-China war and UN peacekeeping operations is about 24 feet high, which is engraved by three huge panels of black stone.

The War Memorial was established to pay tribute to the martyrs. This memorial has been built in the memory of the soldiers who were martyred in 1947-48, 1962, 1965 and 1971, who sacrificed their all for the defense of the country.
