राजस्थान का रहस्यमई किराडू मंदिर

 दक्षिण भारतीय शैली में बना किराडू का मंदिर अपनी स्थापत्य कला के लिए प्रसिद्ध है। राजस्थान के बाड़मेर से 43 किलोमीटर दूर हाथमा गांव में यह मंदिर है। खंडहरनुमा जर्जर से दिखते पांच मंदिरों की श्रृंखला की कलात्मक बनावट देखने वालों को मोहित कर लेती है। इसकी दीवारों पर बहुत ही खूबसूरत नक्काशी की गई है। कहा जाता है कि 1161 ईस्वी में इस स्थान का नाम 'किराट कूप' था। करीब 1000 ईस्वी में यहां पर 5 मंदिरों का निर्माण कराया गया, लेकिन इन मंदिरों का निर्माण किसने कराया इसके बारे में कोई पुख्ता जानकारी उपलब्ध नहीं है। 

मंदिरों की बनावट शैली देखकर लोग अनुमान लगाते हैं कि इनका निर्माण दक्षिण के गुर्जर-प्रतिहार वंश, संगम वंश या फिर गुप्त वंश ने किया होगा। मंदिरों की इस श्रृंखला में केवल विष्णु मंदिर और शिव मंदिर (सोमेश्वर मंदिर) थोड़ा ठीक हालत में है, बाकी मंदिर खंडहर में तब्दील हो चुके हैं। श्रृंखला में सबसे बड़ा मंदिर शिव को समर्पित नजर आता है। खंभों के सहारे निर्मित यह मंदिर भीतर से दक्षिण के मीनाक्षी मंदिर की याद दिलाता है, तो इसका बाहरी आवरण खजुराहो का रंग लिए हुए है। 

काले और नीले पत्थर पर हाथी, घोड़े व अन्य आकृतियों की नक्काशी मंदिर की कलात्मक भव्यता को दर्शाती है। श्रृंखला का दूसरा मंदिर पहले से आकार में छोटा है, जहां विष्णु की प्रधानता है और स्थापत्य और कलात्मक दृष्टि से काफी समृद्ध है। शेष मंदिर खंडहर में तब्दील हो गए हैं। लेकिन बिखरा स्थापत्य अपनी मौजूदगी का एहसास कराता है। किराडू के इन मंदिरों को देखने के बाद यह सवाल उठता है कि आखिर में इसको खजुराहो की तरह लोकप्रियता क्यों नहीं मिली। साथ ही इन्हें सहेजने का प्रयास क्यों नहीं किए गए।

शाम ढलने के बाद जो भी यहाँ रह जाता है वह पत्थर का बन जाता है-

किराडू के मंदिर की ऐसी मान्यता है कि शाम ढलने के बाद जो भी यहाँ रह जाता है वह या तो पत्थर का बन जाता है या मौत की नींद सो जाता है। किराडू के विषय में यह मान्यता वर्षों से चली आ रही है। पत्थर बन जाने के डर से यहां शाम ढलते ही पूरा इलाका विरान हो जाता है। इस मान्यता के पीछे एक अजब दास्तान हैं, जिसकी गवाह एक औरत की पत्थर की मूर्ति है जो किराडू से कुछ दूर सिहणी गांव में स्थित है।

करीब 900 साल पहले परमार राजवंश यहां राज करता था। उसी समय उस गांव में एक सिद्ध साधु पधारे, जिनके साथ शिष्यों की एक टोली थी। साधु शिष्यों को गांव में छोड़कर देशाटन के लिए चले गए। इस बीच शिष्यों का स्वास्थ्य खराब हो गया। गांव वालों ने इनकी कोई मदद नहीं की तपस्वी जब वापस किराडू लौटे और अपने शिष्यों की दुर्दशा देखी, तो गांव वालों को शाप दे दिया कि यहां के लोगों के हृदय पाषाण के हैं। वह इंसान बने रहने योग्य नहीं इसलिए सब पत्थर के हो जाएं।

एक कुम्हारिन थी, जिसने शिष्यों की सहायता की थी। तपस्वी ने उस पर दया करते हुए कहा कि तुम  गांव से चली जाओ वरना तुम भी पत्थर की बन जाओगी, लेकिन याद रखना जाते समय पीछे मुड़कर मत देखना।

कुम्हारिन गांव से चली गई, लेकिन उसके मन में संदेह होने लगा कि तपस्वी की बात सच भी है या नहीं वह पीछे मुड़ कर देखने लगी और वह भी पत्थर की बन गई। सिहणी गांव में कुम्हारिन की पत्थर की मूर्ति आज भी उस घटना की याद दिलाती है।

ऐसे किसी बात का अपनी ओर से समर्थन नहीं करते पर लोक मान्यताएं हैं.. कहानियां हैं।

The mysterious Kiradu temple of Rajasthan

 The temple of Kiradu, built in the South Indian style, is famous for its architecture. This temple is located in Hathma village, 43 km from Barmer, Rajasthan. The artistic structure of the series of five temples, which are seen in ruins, fascinates the onlookers. Very beautiful carvings have been done on its walls. It is said that in 1161 AD the name of this place was 'Kirat Kup'. In about 1000 AD, 5 temples were built here, but there is no concrete information available about who built these temples.

Seeing the architectural style of the temples, people speculate that they must have been built by the Gurjara-Pratihara dynasty of the south, the Sangam dynasty or the Gupta dynasty. Of this chain of temples, only the Vishnu temple and the Shiva temple (Someshwar temple) are in a slightly better condition, the rest are in ruins. The largest temple in the series appears to be dedicated to Shiva. Built on pillars, this temple is reminiscent of the Meenakshi temple from the south, while its outer cover is colored in Khajuraho.

The carvings of elephants, horses and other figures on black and blue stone represent the artistic grandeur of the temple. The second temple in the series is smaller in size than the first, where Vishnu predominates and is very rich in architectural and artistic terms. The rest of the temples have been turned into ruins. But the scattered architecture makes its presence felt. After seeing these temples of Kiradu, the question arises that why it did not get popularity like Khajuraho in the end. Also, why not try to save them?

Whoever remains here after dusk turns into stone.

It is such a belief in the temple of Kiradu that whoever remains here after dusk, either becomes of stone or falls asleep in the sleep of death. This belief about Kiradu has been going on for years, due to the fear of turning into stone, the whole area becomes deserted as soon as evening falls. Behind this belief is a strange story, the proof of which is a stone statue of a woman located in the village of Sihani, some distance from Kiradu.

About 900 years ago the Parmar dynasty ruled here. At the same time a Siddha Sadhu came to that village, with whom there was a group of disciples. The sadhus left the disciples in the village and left for country. Meanwhile the health of the disciples deteriorated. The villagers did not help them, when the ascetic returned to Kiradu and saw the plight of his disciples, he cursed the villagers that the hearts of the people here are of stone. He is not fit to be a human being, so everyone should be made of stone.

There was a potter, who helped the disciples. The ascetic took pity on him and said that you go away from the village or else you too will become of stone, but remember don't look back while going.

The potter left the village, but she started doubting whether the ascetic's words were true or not, she looked back and she too became stone. The stone statue of Kumar in Sihani village still reminds of that incident.

Do not support any such thing from your side but there are folk beliefs.. there are stories.
