गुफा की खोज

इस गुफा की खोज साल 1991 में 'हो खाना' नाम के एक स्थानीय शख्स ने की थी, लेकिन उस वक्त पानी की भयंकर गर्जना और गुफा में घोर अंधेरा होने के कारण कोई भी अंदर जाने की हिम्मत नहीं जुटा पाया था।

अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर साल 2009 में इस गुफा को पहचान मिली जब एक 'ब्रिटिश केव रिसर्च एसोसिएशन'ने एक अभियान के द्वारा इसके अंदर प्रवेश कर इसके प्राकृतिक दृश्यों का अवलोकन किया और पहली बार दुनिया को इस गुफा की झलक दिखाई।

यह अभियान 10 अप्रैल से 14 अप्रैल तक चला और 200 मीटर ऊंची दीवार के कारण यह बीच में ही रुक गया। बाद में साल 2010 में वैज्ञानिकों ने एक 200 मीटर ऊंची दीवार जिससे 'वियतनाम की दीवार' भी कहते हैं, को पार कर गुफा के अंदर जाने के रास्तों का पता लगाया। उन्होंने पाया कियह गुफा वियतनाम की पिछली सबसे बड़ी गुफा से 5 गुना तथा विश्व मैं अब तक की सबसे बड़ी गुफा, 'मलेशिया' की 'डियर केव' से  दुगुना बड़ी है इस गुफा का कुछ हिस्सा ऊपर से टूटा हुआ है और इसमें सूरज की रोशनी भी पहुंचती है। सूरज की रोशनी पहुंचने की वजह से हरे भरे पेड़ भी निकल आए हैं जो छोटा सा जंगल का रूप ले लिए हैं।इस गुफा में 300 मिलियन साल पुराने जीवाश्म भी मिले हैं।यहां पर दुनिया के सबसे ऊंचे चुने के स्तंभ में पाए गए हैं।

पहली बार 200 पर्यटक गए

लाखों साल पुरानी इस गुफा को पहली बार 2013 में पर्यटकों के लिए खोला गया।आपको यह जानकर हैरानी होगी कि शुरुआत में हर साल सिर्फ  250 से 300 लोगों को ही यहां जाने की इजाजत मिलती थी। 900 से ज्यादा लोग गुफा में जा सकेंगे। वह गुफा में 4 दिन और 3 रात रहेंगे एक टिकट लगभग 1.91 लाख का है।

हर साल अगस्त महीने के पहले ही पर्यटक इस गुफा में से जाकर लौट आते हैं, क्योंकि इसके बाद गुफा के अंदर मौजूद नदी का जलस्तर बढ़ जाता है। गुफा के अंदर जाने के लिए पहले पर्यटकों को 6 महीने की ट्रेनिंग दी जाती है। उन्हें कम से कम 10 किलोमीटर पैदल चलने और छह बार रांक क्लाइंबिंग यानी चट्टानों पर चढना सिखाया जाता है, और उनका फिटनेस टेस्ट भी होता है। इसके बाद ही उन्हें गुफा में ले जाया जाता है।
