भारत 15 अगस्त 1947 को आज़ाद हुआ था और 26 जनवरी 1950 को हमारे देश के संविधान को आत्मसात किया गया, जिसके तहत भारत देश को एक लोकतांत्रिक, संप्रभु और गणतंत्र देश घोषित किया गया।. इसलिए हर साल 26 जनवरी को गणतंत्र दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है।

देश के पहले राष्ट्रपति डॉक्टर राजेंद्र प्रसाद ने 26 जनवरी 1950 को 21 तोपों की सलामी के साथ ध्वजारोहण कर भारत को पूर्ण गणतंत्र घोषित किया था। इसके बाद से हर साल इस दिन को गणतंत्र दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है और इस दिन देशभर में राष्ट्रीय अवकाश रहता है।

भारत राज्‍यों का एक संघ है। ये संसदीय प्रणाली की सरकार वाला गणराज्‍य है। ये गणराज्‍य भारत के संविधान के अनुसार शासित है, जिसे संविधान सभा ने 26 नवंबर 1949 को ग्रहण किया था और ये 26 जनवरी 1950 से प्रभाव में आया।

देश के प्रथम नागरिक यानी राष्ट्रपति गणतंत्र दिवस समारोह में हिस्सा लेते हैं और राष्ट्रीय ध्वज भी वही फहराते हैं। संबंधित राज्यों के राज्यपाल राज्य की राजधानियों में।

भारत के राष्ट्रपति नई दिल्ली में होने वाली भव्य परेड की सलामी लेते हैं। वो भारतीय सशस्त्र बलों के कमांडर-इन-चीफ़ भी होते हैं। इस परेड में भारतीय सेना अपने नए लिए टैंकों, मिसाइलों, रडार आदि का प्रदर्शन भी करती हैं।

गणतंत्र दिवस समारोह का अंत बीटिंग रिट्रीट के आयोजन के बाद होता है। यह आयोजन रायसीना हिल्स पर राष्ट्रपति भवन के सामने किया जाता है, जिसके चीफ़ गेस्‍ट राष्‍ट्र‍पति होते हैं। बीटिंग रिट्रीट का आयोजन गणतंत्र दिवस समारोह के तीसरे दिन यानी 29 जनवरी की शाम को किया जाता है। बीटिंग रिट्रीट में थल सेना, वायु सेना और नौसेना के बैंड पारंपरिक धुन बजाते हुए मार्च करते हैं। भारत में हर साल 26 जनवरी की पूर्व संध्या पर बहादुर बच्चों को राष्ट्रीय वीरता पुरस्कार दिए जाते हैं। इन पुरस्कारों की शुरुआत 1957 से हुई थी। इनमें पुरस्कार के रूप में एक पदक, प्रमाण पत्र और नकद राशि दी जाती है। सभी बच्चों को स्कूल की पढ़ाई पूरी करने तक वित्तीय सहायता भी दी जाती है।

गणतंत्र दिवस का एक मुख्य आकर्षण इसकी परेड है। गणतंत्र दिवस परेड राष्ट्रपति भवन से शुरू होती है और इंडिया गेट पर ख़त्म होती है।

आइए, इस गणतंत्र दिवस पर हम संकल्प लें कि देश प्रेम का लक्ष्य लेकर हम अपने कर्तव्य पथ पर निरंतर आगे बढ़ते रहेंगे। प्रसिद्ध कवि राम नरेश त्रिपाठी जी की पंक्तियां प्रस्तुत हैं :

यदि रक्त बूँद भर भी होगा कहीं बदन में

नस एक भी फड़कती होगी समस्त तन में

यदि एक भी रहेगी बाक़ी तरंग मन में

हर एक साँस पर हम आगे बढ़े चलेंगे

वह लक्ष्य सामने है पीछे नहीं टलेंगे

मंज़िल बहुत बड़ी है पर शाम ढल रही है

सरिता मुसीबतों की आग उबल रही है

72nd Republic Day

Congratulations to all of you on the 72nd Republic Day.

 India became independent on 15 August 1947 and the Constitution of our country was assimilated on 26 January 1950, under which the country of India was declared a democratic, sovereign and republican country. Therefore, 26 January is celebrated every year as Republic Day.

 The first President of the country, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, declared India a full republic by flagging off with a 21-gun salute on 26 January 1950. Since then, every year this day is celebrated as Republic Day and this day is a national holiday throughout the country.

 India is a union of states. It is a republic with a parliamentary system of government. This republic is governed according to the Constitution of India which was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on 26 November 1949 and came into effect from 26 January 1950.

 The first citizen of the country i.e. the President takes part in the Republic Day celebrations and also hoists the national flag. Governors of the respective states in the state capitals.

 The President of India takes the salute of the grand parade to be held in New Delhi. He is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Armed Forces. In this parade, Indian Army also displays tanks, missiles, radar etc. for their new ones.

 The Republic Day celebrations end with the holding of the Beating Retreat. The event is held in front of the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Raisina Hills, which houses the Chief Guest. The Beating Retreat is organized on the third day of the Republic Day celebrations i.e. the evening of 29 January. At the Beating Retreat, bands from the army, air force and navy march playing traditional melodies. Every year in India, National Bravery Awards are given to brave children on the eve of 26 January. These awards started in 1957. In these, a medal, certificate and cash is given as a prize. Financial assistance is also provided to all children till they complete school.

 One of the highlights of Republic Day is its parade. The Republic Day Parade begins at Rashtrapati Bhavan and ends at India Gate.

 Come, let us pledge on this Republic Day that with the goal of love for the country, we will continue to move forward on our duty path. The lines of famous poet Ram Naresh Tripathi ji are presented:

 If even a drop of blood will be in the body
