बीरबल की पैनी नजर 

बीरबल बहुत नेक दिल इंसान थे। दान करते रहते थे और इतना ही नहीं बादशाह से मिलने वाले ईनाम को भी ज्यादातर गरीबों और दीन दुखियों में बांट देते थे, परंतु इसके बावजूद भी उनके पास धन की कोई कमी ना थी। दान देने के साथ-साथ बीरबल इस बात से भी चौकन्ना रहते थे कि कपटी व्यक्ति उन्हें अपनी दीनता दिखाकर ठग ना ले।

ऐसे ही बादशाह अकबर ने दरबारियों के साथ मिलकर एक योजना बनाई कि देखें सच्चे दीन दुखियों की पहचान बीरबल को हो पाती है या नहीं। बादशाह ने अपने एक सैनिक को वेष बदल कर दीन हीन अवस्था में बीरबल के पास भेजा कि अगर वह आर्थिक सहायता के रूप में बीरबल से कुछ ले आएगा तो बादशाह अकबर की ओर से उसे इनाम मिलेगा। 

एक दिन जब बीरबल पूजा पाठ करके मंदिर से आ रहे थे तो भेष बदले हुए सैनिक ने बीरबल के सामने आकर कहा," हुजूर दीवान! मैं और मेरे आठ छोटे बच्चे हैं, जो 8 दिनों से भूखे हैं। भगवान का कहना है कि भूखे को खाना खिलाना बहुत पुण्य का कार्य है। मुझे आशा है कि आप मुझे कुछ दान देकर अवश्य ही पुण्य कमाएंगे।"

बीरबल ने उस आदमी को सिर से पांव तक देखा और एक क्षण में ही पहचान लिया कि वह ऐसा नहीं है, जैसा वह दिखावा कर रहा है।

बीरबल मन ही मन मुस्कुराए और बिना कुछ बोले ही उस रास्ते पर चल पड़े जहां से होकर एक नदी पार करनी पड़ती थी। वह व्यक्ति भी बीरबल के पीछे - पीछे चलता रहा। बीरबल ने नदी पार करने के लिए जूती उतारकर हाथ में ले ली। उस व्यक्ति ने भी अपने पैर की जूती हाथ में लेने का प्रयास किया। 

बीरबल ने देखा कि नदी पार कर, कंकरीले मार्ग आते ही दो - चार कदम चलने के बाद ही व्यक्ति ने जूती पहन ली। बीरबल यह बात भी गौर कर चुके थे कि नदी पार करते समय उसका पैर धुलने के कारण वह व्यक्ति और भी साफ सुथरा, चिकना, मुलायम गोरी चमड़ी का दिखने लगा था। इसलिए वह मुलायम पैरों से कंकरीले मार्ग पर नहीं चल सकता था।

 "दीवानजी! दीन - हीन की पुकार आपने सुनी नहीं?" पीछे आ रहे व्यक्ति ने कहा। 

बीरबल बोले," जो मुझे पापी बनाएं, मैं उसकी पुकार कैसे सुन सकता हूं? 

"क्या कहा? क्या आप मेरी सहायता करके पापी बन जाएंगे ?"

"हां, वह इसलिए कि शास्त्रों में लिखा है कि बच्चे का जन्म होने से पहले ही भगवान उसके भोजन का प्रबंध करते हुए उसकी मां के माध्यम से दूध दे देते हैं। उसके लिए भोजन की व्यवस्था भी कर देते हैं। यह भी कहा जाता है कि भगवान इंसान को भूखा उठाता है पर भूख सुलाता नहीं है।

 इन सब बातों के बाद भी तुम अपने आपको 8 दिन से भूखा कह रहे हो। इन सब स्थितियों को देखते हुए यही समझना चाहिए कि भगवान तुमसे रूष्ठ हैं और वह तुम्हें और तुम्हारे परिवार को भूखा रखना चाहते हैं। लेकिन मैं उनका सेवक हूं, अगर मैं तुम्हारा पेट भर दूंगा तो ईश्वर  मुझसे रुष्ठ होंगे। मैं ईश्वर के विरुद्ध नहीं जा सकता। मैं तुम्हें भोजन नहीं करा सकता, क्योंकि यह सब कोई पापी ही कर सकता है।"

बीरबल का यह जवाब सुनकर वह चला गया। 

उसने इस बात की बादशाह और दरबारियों को सूचना दी। 

बादशाह अब यह समझ गए कि बीरबल ने उनकी चाल पकड़ ली है। 

अगले दिन बादशाह ने बीरबल से पूछा," बीरबल तुम्हारे धर्म - कर्म की बड़ी चर्चा है, पर तुमने कल एक भूखे को निराशा ही लौटा दिया, क्यों?"

"आलमपनाह! मैंने किसी भूखे को नहीं, बल्कि एक ढोंगी को लौटा दिया था और मैं यह बात भी जान गया हूं कि वह ढोंगी आपके कहने पर मुझे बेवकूफ बनाने आया था। "

बादशाह अकबर ने कहा," बीरबल! तुमने कैसे जाना कि वह वाकई भूखा ना होकर ढोंगी है?"

"उसके पैरों और पैरों की चप्पल देखकर। यह सच है कि उसने अच्छा भेष बनाया था, मगर उसके पैरों की चप्पल कीमती थी। "

बीरबल ने कहा,"माना कि चप्पल उसे भीख में मिल सकती थी, पर उसके कोमल, मुलायम पैर तो भीख में नहीं मिले थे। इसलिए कंकड़ की गड़न सहन ना कर सके। इतना कहकर बीरबल ने बताया कि किसप्रकार उसने उस व्यक्ति की परीक्षा लेकर जान लिया कि उसे नंगे पैर चलने की भी आदत नहीं। वह दरिद्र नहीं, बल्कि किसी अच्छे कुल का खाता कमाता पुरुष है।" 

बादशाह बोले," क्यों ना होगा मेरा खास सैनिक है।" फिर बहुत प्रसन्न होकर बोले।" सचमुच बीरबल!" माबदौलत तुमसे बहुत खुश हुए। तुम्हें धोखा देना आसान काम नहीं है।"

बादशाह  के साथ साजिश में शामिल हुए सभी दरबारियों के चेहरे बुझ गए।

 Birbal was a very good hearted person.  He used to keep donating and not only that, he also distributed the reward of the emperor to the poor and oppressed, but even then he had no shortage of money.  Along with giving donations, Birbal was also alert that insidious person should not cheat him by showing humility.

 In the same way, Emperor Akbar made a plan with the courtiers to see if Birbal could be identified by the true oppressed.  The emperor sent one of his soldiers in disguised condition to Birbal and said that if he would get something from Birbal as financial assistance, he would get reward from Emperor Akbar.

 One day while Birbal was coming from the temple to recite the puja, the disguised soldier came in front of Birbal and said, "Huzur Diwan! I and I have eight young children, who have been hungry for 8 days. God says that the hungry  Feeding is a very virtuous work. I hope you will definitely earn merit by giving me some donations. "

 Birbal looked at the man from head to toe and in a moment recognized that he is not like he is pretending.

 Birbal smiled in his mind and without saying anything, he walked on the path where he had to cross a river.  That person also followed Birbal.  Birbal took off the shoes to cross the river and took it in his hand.  The man also tried to take his shoe in his hand.

 Birbal saw that the person wore a shoe after crossing the river, walking two or four steps as soon as the narrow road came.  Birbal had also noticed that due to the washing of his feet while crossing the river, that person started looking even more clean, smooth, soft fair skin.  Therefore, he could not walk on the narrow path with soft feet.

  "Deewanji! Did you not listen to the call of the oppressed?"  The person coming back said.

 Birbal said, "How can I hear the call that makes me a sinner?"

 "What did you say? Will you help me and become a sinner?"

 "Yes, that is because it is written in the scriptures that before the birth of the child, God arranges for her food and gives milk through her mother. He also arranges food for her. It is also said  That God makes man hungry, but does not make him hungry.

  Even after all these things, you are telling yourself to starve for 8 days.  In view of all these situations, it should be understood that God is angry with you and he wants to starve you and your family.  But I am his servant, God will be angry with me if I fill your stomach.  I can not go against God.  I cannot give you food, because only a sinner can do all this. "

 Hearing this answer from Birbal, he left.

 He informed the king and the court about this matter.

 The emperor now understood that Birbal had caught his hand.

 The next day the emperor asked Birbal, "Birbal is a great discussion of your religion, but you have returned a hunger to despair tomorrow, why?"

 "Alampanah! I did not return any hunger, but a creep, and I have also come to know that the imposter came to fool me at your behest."

 Emperor Akbar said, "Birbal! How did you know that she is really hungry and not a pretender?"

 "Seeing her foot and foot slippers. It is true that she made a good disguise, but her foot slippers were precious."

 Birbal said, "Admittedly, the slippers could have got him begging, but his soft, soft feet were not found in the begging. So he could not bear the rubble of the pebbles. So much so that Birbal told how he took the person's exam  Realized that he does not even have the habit of walking barefoot. He is not a poor man, but a man earning an account of a good family. "

 The king said, "Why won't you be my special soldier?"  Then exclaimed very pleased. "Really Birbal!"  Mabdoul was very happy with you.  Cheating on you is not an easy job. "

 The faces of all the courtiers involved in the conspiracy with the emperor were extinguished.
