महाकपि के बलिदान की कहानी

         हिमालय के फूल अपनी विशेषताओं के लिए सर्वविदित हैं। दुर्भाग्यवश उनकी अनेक प्रजातियां विलुप्त होती जा रही हैं। कुछ तो केवल किस्से -कहानियां तक ही सिमट कर रह गई हैं। यह कहानी उस समय की है, जब हिमालय का एक अनूठा पेड़ अपने फलीय वैशिष्ट्य के साथ, एक निर्जन पहाड़ी नदी के तीर पर स्थित था। उसके फूल थाईलैंड के कुरियन से भी बड़े, चेरी से भी अधिक रसीले और आम से भी अधिक मीठे होते थे। उनकी आकृति और सुगंध भी मन को मोह लेने वाली थी।

        उस पेड़ पर वानरों का एक झुंड रहता था, जो बड़ी ही स्वच्छंदता के साथ उन फूलों का रसास्वादन व उपभोग करते थे। उन वानरों का एक राजा भी था जो अन्य बंदरों की तुलना से कई गुना ज्यादा बड़ा, बलवान, गुणवान प्रज्ञावान और शीलवान था। इसलिए वह महा कपि के नाम से जाना जाता था। अपनी दूर दृष्टया से वह आगे की सोंच कर, समस्त वानरों को सचेत कर रखा था कि उस वृक्ष का कोई भी फल उन टहनियों पर ना छोड़े, जिसके नीचे नदी बहती हो। उसके अनुगामी वानरों ने भी उसकी बातों को पूरा महत्व दिया। क्योंकि अगर कोई फल नदी में गिर कर और बहकर मनुष्य को प्राप्त होता तो उसका परिणाम वानरों के लिए अत्यंत भयंकर होता।
        एक दिन दुर्भाग्यवश उस पेड़ का एक फल पत्तों के बीचो बीच पक कर टहनी से टूट गया और बहती हुई नदी की धारा में प्रवाहित हो गया। उन्हीं दिनों उस देश का राजा अपनी औरतों तथा दास -दसियों  के साथ उसी नदी के तीर पर विहार कर रहा था। वह प्रवाहित फल आकर वहीं रुक गया। उस समय फल की सुगंध से राजा की औरतें सम्मोहित होकर आंखें बंद कर आनंद मग्न हो गईं। राजा भी उस सुगंध से आनंदित हो उठा। शीघ्र ही उसने अपने आदमी उस सुगंध के स्रोत के पीछे दौड़ाए। राजा के आदमी तत्काल उस फल को नदी के तीर पर प्राप्त कर पल भर में राजा के सम्मुख ले आए। फल का परीक्षण कराया गया तो पता चला कि वह एक विशेष फल था। राजा ने जब उस फल का रसास्वादन किया तो उसके हृदय में वैसे फलों तथा उसके वृक्ष को प्राप्त करने की तीव्र लालसा जगी। क्षण भर में सिपाहियों ने वैसे फलों के पेड़ों को भी ढूंढ निकाला। किंतु वानरों की उपस्थिति उन्हें वहां रास नहीं आई। तत्काल उन्होंने तीरों से वानरों को मारना प्रारंभ कर दिया।

       वीरवान महा कपि ने तब अपने साथियों को बचाने के लिए कूदते हुए उस पेड़ के निकट की एक पहाड़ी पर स्थित एक बांस की लकड़ी को अपने पैरों से फंसा कर, फिर उसी पेड़ की टहनी को अपने दोनों हाथों से पकड़ कर लेट कर अपने साथियों के लिए एक पुल का निर्माण कर दिया। फिर चिल्लाकर अपने साथियों को अपने ऊपर चढ़कर बेतों वाली पहाड़ी पर कूद कर भाग जाने की आज्ञा दी। इस प्रकार महाकपि के बुद्धि कौशल से सारे वानर दूसरी तरफ की पहाड़ी पर कूद कर भाग गए।

         राजा ने महाकवि के त्याग को बड़े गौर से देखा और सराहा। उसने अपने आदमियों को महाकपि को जिंदा पकड़ने की आज्ञा दी। पर उस समय महाकवि की हालत अत्यंत गंभीर थी। साथी वानरों द्वारा कुचल जाने के कारण उसका सारा शरीर विदीर्ण हो उठा था।

       राजा ने उसके उपचार की सारी व्यवस्था भी करवाई मगर महाकवि की आंखें हमेशा के लिए बंद हो चुकी थीं।

Moral/ शिक्षा  :वीरता और समझदारी हमें  इतिहास के पन्नों में जगह देती है। इसके साथ हमें यह शिक्षा मिलती है कि  मुश्किल घड़ी में समझदारी से काम लेना चाहिए।

         The Himalayan flowers are well known for their specialties. Unfortunately many of their species are becoming extinct. Some stories are limited to stories only. This story dates back to the time when a unique Himalayan tree, with its plantar features, was situated on the arrow of a deserted mountain river. Its flowers were larger than the Kurian of Thailand, more juicy than cherries and sweeter than mangoes. His shape and fragrance were also enchanting to the mind.

        There used to be a bunch of apes on that tree, who used to taste and consume those flowers with great freedom. There was also a king of those apes who was many times bigger, stronger, better-known, and Sheelawan than the other monkeys. Hence he was known as Maha Kapi. With his distant vision, he thought ahead, alerting all the apes not to leave any fruit of that tree on the branches under which the river flows. His following apes also gave full importance to his talk. Because if any fruit was received by a human by falling into the river and flowing, then the result would be very terrible for the apes.

        One day, unfortunately, one of the fruits of that tree caught in the middle of the leaves broke from the branch and flowed into the stream of a flowing river. At the same time, the king of that country, along with his women and slaves-tenants, was on the arrow of the same river. That flowing fruit came and stopped there. At that time, the king's women became enthralled by the aroma of the fruit and closed their eyes and became blissful. The king also became delighted with that fragrance. Soon he ran his men behind the source of that fragrance. The king's men immediately received the fruit on the river's arrow and brought it to the king in an instant. When the fruit was tested, it was found that it was a special fruit. When the king tasted that fruit, his heart longed to get such fruits and his tree. In a moment, the soldiers also found such fruit trees. But the presence of apes did not appease them there. Immediately he started killing the apes with arrows.

       Veerawan Maha Kapi then jumped to save his comrades with a bamboo wood situated on a hill near that tree, with his feet, then holding the branch of the same tree with both his hands and lying down with his companions. Built a bridge for Then shouted and ordered his comrades to climb over him and jump on the son's hill and run away. In this way, all the apes from the wisdom skills of the great queen jumped on the hill on the other side.

         The king watched the great poet's sacrifice with great attention and appreciated it. He commanded his men to capture the great grandpa alive. But at that time the condition of the great poet was very critical. Due to being crushed by fellow apes, his entire body was gutted.

       The king also made arrangements for his treatment, but the poet's eyes were closed forever.
