रोहिड़ा (Tecomella undulata) राजस्थान का राजकीय पुष्प है। रोहिड़ा का पेड़ थार में कल्पवृक्ष के नाम से जाना जाता है। इसी कल्पवृक्ष पर लाल गुलाबी व केसरिया रंग के फूल खिलते हैं जिन्हें रोहिड़ा का फूल कहा जाता है। इसे "मारवाड़ सागवान" भी कहा जाता है। 21 अक्टूबर 1983 में इसे राजस्थान का राज्य पुष्प घोषित किया गया था। रोहिड़ा का वृक्ष चमकीले लाल रंग के फूल वाला सुंदर वृक्ष है,जो राजस्थान के थार मरुस्थल और पाकिस्तान में पाया जाता है। 

यह फूल राजस्थान के पश्चिमी क्षेत्र में स्थित थार रेगिस्तान में एक मध्यम आकार के पेड़ से उगता है। एक तरफ तो रोहिड़ा के पुष्प मनुष्यों को अपनी खूबसूरती से आकर्षित करते हैं, तो वहीं दूसरी तरफ यह पशुधन व अन्य जीवों के लिए आहार भी है। इसकी लकड़ी काफी मजबूत होती है और शीशम के विकल्प के रूप में इसका उपयोग होता है।रोहिड़ा का पेड़ अच्छी गुणवत्ता वाली लकड़ी पैदा करता है। रोहिड़ा के पेड़ की लकड़ी शेखावटी और मारवाड़ अंचल में इमारती लकड़ी का मुख्य स्रोत है। इस पेड़ की लकड़ी मजबूत और सख्त होती है, जिससे यह कई उद्देश्यों के लिए टिकाऊ होती है। यह एक बेहतरीन ईंधन विकल्प के रूप में भी काम करता है और लोग इसका उपयोग जलाऊ लकड़ी या चारकोल के लिए करते हैं।

रोहिड़ा के फूल को 'मरू शोभा' और 'रेगिस्तान का सागवान' भी कहा जाता है। यह औषधीय गुणों से भरपुर होता है। रोहिडा के फूल शरीर से विषैले तत्वों को बाहर निकालने में सहायक है। इससे त्वचा रोगों और फोड़े-फुंसी जैसी समस्याओं में राहत मिलती है। यह फूल लीवर को स्वस्थ रखने और उसके कार्य को बेहतर बनाने में मदद करते हैं। आयुर्वेद में इसे हेपेटो-प्रोटेक्टिव माना जाता है। 

इस पेड़ की पत्तियों और फूलों को मवेशी, भेड़, ऊँट और दूसरे जानवर खाते हैं। जानवरों के लिए भोजन का स्रोत होने के अलावा, रोहिड़ा के पेड़ में मिट्टी को बांधने की शक्ति भी होती है क्योंकि यह अपनी पार्श्व जड़ों को मिट्टी की सतह पर फैलाता है। इससे पेड़ को रेगिस्तान में खुद को बनाए रखने में मदद मिलती है। रोहिड़ा के वृक्ष पर भारी मात्रा में फूल लगते हैं और फूल का आकार बड़ा होने के कारण पूरा पेड़ वसंत में (फरवरी अंत से अप्रैल तक) फूलों से ही लदा हुआ नजर आता है। इस फूल में किसी प्रकार की सुगंध नहीं होती, जिसके कारण इसका उपयोग मंदिर में नहीं किया जाता है। बड़े आकार के इस फूल की सुन्दरता और अनुपम गुणों के साथ रोहिड़ा के वृक्ष के संरक्षण को ध्यान में रखते हुए राज्य सरकार नें इसे राज्य पुष्प घोषित किया था। 

रोहिड़ा के फूल तीन रंग (पीले, नारंगी और लाल) के होते हैं तथा आकार घंटीनुमा या तुरही की तरह होता है। आकार बड़ा होने के कारण इसका परागण तितलियां नहीं कर पाती हैं। परागण तितली या अन्य कीट से ना होकर बड़ी चोंच के बड़े पक्षियों द्वारा होता है। पक्षी मकरंद को चुराने के लिए छिद्र करते हैं। ऐसे में यह पुष्प अन्य पुष्प से भिन्न और अनोखा है। जब यह फूल खिलता है तब लाल होता है, धीरे धीरे केशरिया होने लगता है और अंत में पीला होकर गिर जाता है। फूलों के पक जाने या परागण की प्रक्रिया के पूर्ण हो जाने पर इसमें फली निकलती है, जिसमें चौकोर छोटे-छोटे चपटे (एक ग्राम भार) के बीज होते हैं।

Rohida (Tecomella undulata) is the state flower of Rajasthan. Rohida tree is known as Kalpvriksha in Thar. Red, pink and saffron coloured flowers bloom on this Kalpvriksha which are called Rohida flower. It is also called "Marwar Teak". On 21 October 1983, it was declared the state flower of Rajasthan. Rohida tree is a beautiful tree with bright red coloured flowers, which is found in the Thar Desert of Rajasthan and Pakistan.

This flower grows from a medium sized tree in the Thar Desert located in the western region of Rajasthan. On one hand, Rohida flowers attract humans with their beauty, on the other hand it is also food for livestock and other creatures. Its wood is very strong and is used as an alternative to rosewood. Rohida tree produces good quality wood. The wood of Rohida tree is the main source of timber in Shekhawati and Marwar region. The wood of this tree is strong and hard, making it durable for many purposes. It also serves as an excellent fuel option and people use it for firewood or charcoal.

Rohida flower is also called 'Maru Shobha' and 'Desert teak'. It is full of medicinal properties. Rohida flower is helpful in removing toxic elements from the body. It provides relief in problems like skin diseases and boils. These flowers help in keeping the liver healthy and improving its function. In Ayurveda, it is considered hepato-protective.

The leaves and flowers of this tree are eaten by cattle, sheep, camels and other animals. Apart from being a source of food for animals, the Rohida tree also has soil binding power as it spreads its lateral roots on the soil surface. This helps the tree to sustain itself in the desert. The Rohida tree flowers in large quantities and due to the large size of the flower, the entire tree appears laden with flowers in spring (from February end to April). This flower does not have any fragrance, due to which it is not used in the temple. Keeping in mind the beauty of this large flower and the unique properties along with the conservation of the Rohida tree, the state government declared it as the state flower.

Rohida flowers are of three colors (yellow, orange and red) and are shaped like a bell or trumpet. Due to its large size, butterflies are unable to pollinate it. Pollination does not take place by butterflies or other insects, but by large birds with large beaks. Birds make holes to steal the nectar. In this way, this flower is different and unique from other flowers. When this flower blooms, it is red, slowly it turns saffron and finally turns yellow and falls. After the flowers ripen or the process of pollination is complete, a pod comes out, which contains small flat square seeds (weighing one gram).
