गुजरात का सारंगपुर महज 5 से 7 हजार की आबादी वाला एक छोटा सा गाँव है, जो गुजरात के शहर भावनगर से 82 और अहमदाबाद से करीब 153 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है, यहीं विराजमान हैं कष्टभंजन देव हनुमान, जिन्हें 'कष्टों के नाशक' भी कहा जाता है। 

“कष्टभंजन” नाम का अर्थ होता है “कष्टों को दूर करने वाला” या “मुश्किलें नष्ट करने वाला”, जो भगवान हनुमान की दिव्य शक्ति को दर्शाता है, जो उनके भक्तों के सामने आने वाली समस्याओं और चुनौतियों को कम करने में सक्षम होती है। यह मान्यता है कि इस मंदिर में प्रार्थना करने और आशीर्वाद मांगने से बाधाएं दूर होती हैं, रोग ठीक होते हैं और समृद्धि और सुख स्थापित होते हैं।

कष्टभंजन हनुमान मंदिर का इतिहास 20वीं सदी का है। यहां विराजित भगवान ‘‘कष्टभंजन हनुमान’’ जी की प्रतिमा के पैरों के नीचे शनिदेव को स्त्री रूप में दर्शाया गया है। इस संबंध में यहां एक बहुत ही प्रचलित कथा है और यही कथा इस प्रतिमा के कष्टभंजन के रूप को दर्शाती है।

एक प्रचलित कथा के अनुसार प्राचीन समय में शनिदेव का प्रकोप काफी बढ़ गया था, जिसके कारण यहां के सभी लोगों को तरह-तरह की परेशानियों और दुखों का सामना करना पड़ रहा था। ऐसे में यहां के उस समय के स्थानीय निवासियों ने भगवान हनुमान जी से प्रार्थना की कि वे उन्हें इस संकट से मुक्ति दें।

भक्तों को कष्ट में देख कर हनुमान जी ने उनकी विनती को स्वीकार किया और उन्हें शनि के प्रकोप से बचाने के लिए इसी स्थान पर अवतरित हुए। कहा जाता है कि इसके बाद हनुमानजी शनिदेव पर क्रोधित हो गए और उन्हें दंड देने का निश्चय कर लिया। शनिदेव को जब इस बात का पता चला तो वे बहुत डर गए और हनुमानजी के क्रोध से बचने के लिए उपाय सोचने लगे।

शनिदेव जानते थे कि हनुमानजी अत्यंत नीरवधिक और ब्रह्मचारी हैं। वे किसी भी स्त्री पर अपना क्रोध नहीं निकालते थे। इसीलिए, शनिदेव ने उनके क्रोध से बचने के लिए स्त्री रूप अपनाया। वे हनुमानजी के पास चले गए और उनके पवित्र पैरों में गिर पड़े। अपने हृदय से क्षमा मांगने लगे। एक आश्वासन के बाद, हनुमानजी ने शनिदेव को क्षमा देने का निर्णय लिया। इस प्यार और क्षमा भरे संवाद में भावनाओं का आवेश उमड़ आया। यह घटना हमें यह दिखाती है कि पवित्रता, सम्मान और प्रेम के साथ हम किसी को भी माफ कर सकते हैं।

मंदिर के गर्भगृह में विराजित भगवान “कष्टभंजन हनुमान” (कष्टभंजन हनुमान सरंगपुर) जी की प्रतिमा को उसी प्रचलित कथा के अनुसार कष्टभंजन के रूप में दर्शाया गया है। पर शनिदेव को हनुमानजी के चरणों में स्त्री रूप में पूजा जाता है। इस कष्टभंजन हनुमान जी के इस प्राचीन मंदिर के गर्भगृह में हनुमान जी सोने के सिंहासन पर विराजमान हैं, इसलिए उन्हें यहां महाराजाधिराज के नाम से भी पुकारा जाता है।और यही कारण है कि यहां हनुमान जी द्वारा भक्तों के कष्टों का निवारण करने की वजह से ही उन्हें ‘‘कष्टभंजन हनुमान’’ के नाम से जाना जाता है। 

 इसमें हनुमान जी के चारों ओर उनकी वानर सेना को दर्शाया गया है। साथ ही, कष्टभंजन देव का अति भव्य मंदिर एक राजदरबार की तरह सजे सुंदर मंदिर के विशाल और भव्य मंडप के बीच 45 किलो सोने और 95 किलो चांदी से बने एक सुंदर सिंहासन पर पवनपुत्र विराजमान होते हैं और अपने भक्तों की हर मुरादें पूरी करते हैं। इनके शीश पर हीरे जवाहरात का मुकुट है और निकट ही रखी गदा भी स्वर्ण निर्मित है।  

कष्टभंजन हनुमान जी के इस मंदिर में लोगों की श्रद्धा अटूट है, इसलिए यहां दर्शन करने आने वाले भक्तों की संख्या प्रतिदिन हजारों में होती है। लेकिन मंगलवार और शनिवार के दिन यह संख्या चार से पांच गुणा तक बढ़ जाती है।

It is believed that praying and seeking blessings in this temple removes obstacles, cures diseases and establishes prosperity and happiness.

The history of Kashtbhanjan Hanuman Temple dates back to the 20th century. Shanidev is depicted in female form under the feet of the idol of Lord "Kashtbhanjan Hanuman" installed here. There is a very popular story in this regard and this story shows the form of this statue as a destroyer of troubles.

According to a popular story, in ancient times, the wrath of Shani Dev had increased a lot, due to which all the people here were facing various kinds of troubles and sorrows. In such a situation, the local residents of that time prayed to Lord Hanuman to free them from this crisis.

Seeing the devotees in trouble, Hanuman ji accepted their request and appeared at this place to save them from the wrath of Shani. It is said that after this Hanuman ji got angry at Shani Dev and decided to punish him. When Shani Dev came to know about this, he got very scared and started thinking of ways to avoid Hanuman ji's anger.

Shani Dev knew that Hanuman ji is extremely silent and celibate. He did not vent his anger on any woman. That is why, Shani Dev adopted a female form to avoid his anger. He went to Hanuman ji and fell at his holy feet. He started asking for forgiveness from his heart. After an assurance, Hanumanji decided to forgive Shanidev. This loving and forgiving conversation brought a surge of emotions. This incident shows us that with purity, respect and love, we can forgive anyone.

The idol of Lord “Kashtbhanjan Hanuman” (Kashtbhanjan Hanuman Sarangpur) seated in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple is depicted as Kashtbhanjan according to the same popular story. But Shanidev is worshipped in the form of a woman at the feet of Hanumanji. Hanumanji is seated on a golden throne in the sanctum sanctorum of this ancient temple of Kashtbhanjan Hanumanji, hence he is also called Maharajadhiraj here. And this is the reason why Hanumanji is known as “Kashtbhanjan Hanuman” because he relieves the sufferings of the devotees here.

In this, his monkey army is depicted around Hanumanji. Also, in the very grand temple of Kashtbhanjan Dev, in the middle of a huge and grand pavilion of the beautiful temple decorated like a royal court, the son of wind sits on a beautiful throne made of 45 kg gold and 95 kg silver and fulfils all the wishes of his devotees. He has a crown of diamonds and jewels on his head and the mace kept nearby is also made of gold.

People's faith in this temple of Kashtbhanjan Hanuman ji is unwavering, so the number of devotees coming here for darshan is in thousands every day. But on Tuesdays and Saturdays this number increases by four to five times.
