आंध्र प्रदेश भारत के दक्षिणपूर्वी क्षेत्र में स्थित एक राज्य है। यह भारत गणराज्य का 7 वां सबसे बड़ा और 10 वां सबसे अधिक आबादी वाला राज्य है। इस ब्लॉग के पिछले कुछ अंकों में अलग अलग राज्य के राजकीय पक्षियों की चर्चा हुई है। आज हम आंध्र प्रदेश के राजकीय/राज्य पक्षी के बारे में जानेंगे।

हर राज्यों की तरह आंध्र प्रदेश द्वारा भी राज्य का राजकीय पक्षी चुना गया है। "रोज रिंगड तोता (Rose Ringed Parrot)" आंध्र प्रदेश का एक राज्य पक्षी है। इसे "रिंग-नेक्ड पैराकेट (Ring-necked Parakeet)" के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। स्थानीय स्तर पर इसे "राम चिलुका (Ram Chiluka)" के नाम से जाना जाता है। तेलंगाना के अलग होने से पहले इंडियन रोलर (Indian Roller) आंध्र प्रदेश का राज्य पक्षी था।

तेलंगाना के साथ विभाजन के बाद, आंध्र प्रदेश ने भारतीय रोलर पक्षी (Indian Roller) को छोड़ दिया और राम चिलुका (Ram Chiluka) को अपना राज्य पक्षी घोषित कर दिया। हालांकि, तेलंगाना ने इंडियन रोलर (Palpitta) को अपने राज्य पक्षी के रूप में बरकरार रखा है।

रोज रिंगड तोता (Rose Ringed Parrot) एक मध्यम आकार का तोता है। यह ज्यादातर भारतीय उपमहाद्वीप और अफ्रीका क्षेत्र में पाया जाता है। इसकी चोंच लाल होती है तथा गर्दन पर गहरा घेरा लिए काली लाइन होती है। इसका पूरा शरीर हरे रंग का होता है। पहले इनकी संख्या बहुत अधिक थी, लेकिन अब यह घटते जा रहे हैं। इसकी अधिकांश प्रजातियां द्वीपों पर पाई जाती हैं। यह तोते अपना घर मिट्टी की कच्ची दीवारों में बिल बनाकर बनाते हैं।

Andhra Pradesh is a state located in the southeastern region of India. It is the 7th largest and 10th most populous state of the Republic of India. Like every state, Andhra Pradesh has also chosen the state bird of the state. The "Rose Ringed Parrot" is the state bird of Andhra Pradesh. It is also known as the "Ring-necked Parakeet". It is locally known as "Ram Chiluka". Indian Roller was the state bird of Andhra Pradesh before the separation of Telangana. The Rose Ringed Parrot is a medium sized parrot. It is mostly found in the Indian subcontinent and Africa region. Its beak is red and there is a dark circle on the neck with a black line. Its whole body is green. Earlier their number was very high, but now it is decreasing. Most of its species are found on islands. These parrots build their houses by making burrows in mud walls.
