गरम पानी का विशालकाय मेंढक

आप में से भी कई लोग नैनीताल गए होंगे। मैं भी कई बार नैनीताल जा चुकी हूं, परंतु आज जिस प्रसिद्ध पिकनिक स्पॉट की बात करने जा रही हूं, वह नहीं देखा। आज आपको एक ऐसे गरमपानी के मेंढक से मिलवाती हूँ, जो नैनीताल का प्रसिद्ध पिकनिक स्पॉट है।

उत्तराखंड अपनी खूबसूरती के लिए पूरे विश्व में प्रसिद्ध है। यहां एक से बढ़कर एक हिल स्टेशन और पिकनिक स्पॉट हैं। नैनीताल के भवाली - अल्मोड़ा राजमार्ग पर स्थित "फ्रॉग प्वाइंट" इन पिकनिक स्पॉट में से एक है, जो "गरमपानी के मेंढक" नाम से प्रसिद्द है। 

आखिर यह गरमपानी का मेंढक है क्या?

गरम पानी क्षेत्र में शिप्रा नदी के बीच में विशालकाय मेंढक के आकार का एक बहुत बड़ा चट्टान है। ग्राम सभा सिल्टूनी वालों ने चट्टान में सफेद रंग की आंखें बना दी हैं, जिससे वह पूरी तरीके से मेंढक नजर आता है। मेंढक पत्थर 27 साल पहले अस्तित्व में आया था। पहले यह पत्थर नदी के अंदर रेत में दबा हुआ था 1993 में जब यहां भयंकर बाढ़ आई तब नदी की रेत बहने के कारण यह पत्थर नजर आने लगा। तब से इस अनोखे पत्थर को देखने बहुत से सैलानी यहां पर आते हैं।

यहां यह बात स्पष्ट करने वाली है कि गरमपानी का मेंढक नाम होने से निःसंदेह यह कल्पना होती है कि यहां का पानी गर्म होगा, परंतु ऐसा कुछ नहीं है। बल्कि यहां का पानी भी पहाड़ जैसे ही ठंडा है। ठंडे पानी के इस क्षेत्र को गरमपानी नाम से पुकारने के पीछे या तो कोई कहानी होगी या फिर यहां के आसपास जगह का नाम गरमपानी होगा, जिससे यह जगह गरमपानी  के मेंढक के नाम से प्रसिद्ध है।

वैसे तो यहां पर लोग पिकनिक मनाने के लिए तथा फोटो खिंचवाने के लिए आते हैं, परंतु वर्तमान में इस जगह पर निम्नलिखित और भी गतिविधियां होने लगी हैं। जैसे कि मछली पकड़ना, नौका विहार, आकाश दृश्य, गांव भ्रमण, कैंपिंग, पक्षी देखना, पैराग्लाइडिंग, घोड़े की सवारी और शिप्रा नदी में राफ्टिंग।

इस जगह पर कई फिल्मों के दृश्य भी फिल्माए गए हैं। "चांद के पार चलो" जैसे सुपरहिट फिल्म के साथ ही और भी कई फिल्मों के दृश्य भी यहां फिल्माए गए हैं।

Uttarakhand is famous all over the world for its beauty. There are more than one hill station and picnic spot here. Located on the Bhowali - Almora highway of Nainital, "Frog Point" is one of these picnic spots, which is popularly known as "Frogs of Hot Water".

After all, is this a hot water frog?

In the middle of the Shipra river in the hot water area, there is a huge rock in the shape of a giant frog. The people of the Gram Sabha Siltuni have made white colored eyes in the rock, which makes it look like a frog in its entirety. Frog stone came into existence 27 years ago. Earlier this stone was buried in the sand inside the river. Since then many tourists come here to see this unique stone.

It is to be clarified here that due to the name of the frog of hot water, it is undoubtedly imagined that the water here will be hot, but it is not like that. Rather, the water here is as cold as the mountain. There will either be a story behind calling this cold water area by the name Garampani or the name of the place around here will be Garampani, due to which this place is famous as the frog of hot water.

Although people come here for picnics and for taking photos, but at present the following more activities have started taking place at this place. Such as fishing, boating, sky view, village excursions, camping, bird watching, paragliding, horse riding and rafting in Shipra river.

Several movies scenes have also been shot at this place. Along with superhit films like "Chand Ke Paar Chalo", scenes from many other films have also been shot here.
