आनंदपुर साहिब भारत के पंजाब राज्य के रूपनगर जिले में स्थित एक ऐतिहासिक नगर है। यह शिवालिक पर्वतमाला के चरणों में सतलुज नदी के समीप स्थित है। आनंदपुर साहिब सिख धर्म में सबसे पवित्र स्थानों में से एक है।आनंदपुर साहिब की स्थापना सिखों के नवें गुरु श्री तेग बहादुर सिंह ने 1665 में की थी। यहां दो अंतिम सिख गुरु श्री गुरु तेग बहादुर जी और श्री गुरु गोविंद सिंह जी रहे थे। यही पर सन् 1699 में गुरु गोविंद सिंह ने खालसा पंथ की स्थापना की थी। यहां तख्त श्री केशगढ़ साहिब है, जो सिख धर्म के पांच तत्वों में से तीसरा स्थान है। यहां बसंत होला मोहल्ला का उत्सव होता है, जिसमें भारी संख्या में सिख अनुयायी एकत्रित होते हैं।

इतिहास के अनुसार बैसाखी पर 1699 में एक बहुत बड़े पंडाल में गुरु गोविंद सिंह जी ने दीवान सजाए। संगत उनके वचन सुन ही रही थी कि गुरु जी अपने दाएं हाथ में एक चमकती हुई तलवार लेकर खड़े हो गए। उन्होंने कहा कि कोई सिख हमें अपना शीश भेंट करें, यह सुनकर भाई दयाराम खड़े हो गए और शीश हाजिर किया।

गुरु जी बाजू पकड़कर उन्हें तंबू में ले गए, कुछ समय बाद रक्त से भीगी तलवार लेकर तंबू से बाहर आए। गुरुजी ने फिर एक और सिख के शीश की मांग की। भाई धर्म जी खड़े हो गए उन्हें भी गुरुजी अंदर ले गए, गुरुजी बाहर आए और फिर शीश मांगा, अब मोहकम चंद व चौथी बार भाई साहिब चंद आगे आए पांचवी बार हिम्मत मल हाथ जोड़कर खड़े हो गए, गुरुजी उन्हें भी अंदर ले गए।गुरुजी ने तलवार को म्यान में डाल दिया और सिंहासन पर बैठ गए। तंबू में ही अपने शीश भेंट करने वाले प्यारों को नई पोशाकें पहना कर अपने पास बैठा कर संगत से कहा यह पांचों मेरा ही स्वरूप है, और मैं इनका स्वरूप हूं, यह पांच मेरे प्यारे हैं।

तीसरे पहर गुरुजी ने लोहे का बांटा मंगवा कर उसमें सतलुज नदी का पानी डालकर अपने आगे रख लिया। पांचों प्यारों को सजा कर अपने सामने खड़ा कर दिया और मुख से जपुजी साहिब आदि बाणियों का पाठ करते रहे। पाठ की समाप्ति के बाद अरदास करके पांच प्यारों को एक-एक करके अमृत के पांच-पांच घूंट पिलाएं। इस तरह पांचों प्यारों के साथ गुरु गोविंद ने अमृत छका। इस स्थान पर यह इतिहास की अहम घटना हुई। इस घटना के बाद श्री गोविंद राय से श्री गोविंद सिंह साहिब जी कहलाए और यहां तख्त श्री केशगढ़ साहिब स्थापित हुआ।

Anandpur Sahib is a historic town in Rupnagar district in the state of Punjab, India. It is situated near the Sutlej river at the foot of the Shivalik ranges. Anandpur Sahib is one of the holiest places in Sikhism. Anandpur Sahib was established by the ninth Guru of the Sikhs, Shri Tegh Bahadur Singh in 1665. The two last Sikh Gurus, Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji were living here. It was here in 1699 that Guru Gobind Singh founded the Khalsa Panth. Here is the Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib, which is the third of the five elements of Sikhism. The festival of Basant Hola Mohalla takes place here, in which a large number of Sikh followers gather.

According to history, on Baisakhi in 1699, Guru Gobind Singh ji decorated a diwan in a very big pandal. The sangat was listening to his words when Guru ji stood up with a shining sword in his right hand. He said that on hearing that some Sikh should present his head to us, Bhai Dayaram stood up and presented the head.

Guruji took them by the arms and took them to the tent, after some time came out of the tent with a sword soaked in blood. Guruji again demanded the head of another Sikh. Bhai Dharam ji stood up and Guruji took him in, Guruji came out and then asked for her head, now Mohkam Chand and Bhai Sahib Chand came forward for the fourth time, Himmat Mal stood up with folded hands for the fifth time, Guruji took them in too. put the sword in its sheath and sat on the throne.

Wearing new clothes to the beloved ones who presented their heads in the tent, sitting next to them, said to the sangat, these five are my form, and I am their form, these five are my dear. On the third hour, Guruji ordered a distribution of iron and put the water of the Sutlej river in it and kept it in front of him. The five beloved were decorated and made them stand in front of them and kept on reciting Japuji Sahib etc. After the end of the lesson, offer five sips of nectar to the five dear ones one by one by doing Ardas. In this way, Guru Gobind spilled nectar with the five beloved. This important event in history took place at this place. After this incident, Shri Govind Rai was called Shri Govind Singh Sahib Ji and Takht Shri Keshgarh Sahib was established here.
