हिरणी और अजगर

एक जगह बहुत घने जंगल में एक बड़ा सा अजगर रहता था। वह विशालकाय होने के साथ - साथ बहुत क्रूर भी था। वह ना जाने कितने जानवरों को अपना निवाला बना चुका था। एक बार वह अजगर शिकार की तलाश में अपने बिल से बाहर निकला, तो सारे जानवर छुप गए। 

जब अजगर को कुछ ना मिला तो आप बहुत क्रोधित होकर जोर - जोर से पुकारने लगा। वहीं पास में एक हिरनी ने अपने नवजात शिशु को पत्तियों से छुपा रखा था और भोजन की तलाश में गई हुई थी। अजगर की तेज फुफकार से सूखी पत्तियां उड़ने लगी और हिरनी का नवजात बच्चा नजर आने लगा। हिरनी का बच्चा जब अजगर को देखा तो वह जोर से चीखने लगा। अजगर की दृष्टी भी हिरन के बच्चे पर पड़ी और अजगर ने उसे निगल लिया। जब तक की हिरनी भी वहां पहुंच चुकी थी, लेकिन वह उसको बचा ना सकी और अपने शिशु को अजगर का निवाला बनता देखती रही। 

घटना के स्तब्ध हिरनी अजगर से बदला लेने के लिए व्याकुल थी। हिरनी अपने मित्र नेवले के पास गई और बोली कि मेरे बच्चे को एक अजगर ने निगल लिया है और मैं उससे बदला लेना चाहती हूं। इस काम में मैं तुम्हारी मदद चाहती हूँ। 

नेवला दुख भरे स्वर में बोला - "मित्र अगर यह मेरे बस की बात होती, तो मैं उसके टुकड़े कर देता। परंतु मैं एक छोटा मोटा नेवला हूं, जो अजगर की शिकार नहीं कर सकता। लेकिन मैं उससे बदला लेने में तुम्हारी सहायता अवश्य कर सकता हूं। कुछ चीटियां है, जो मेरी मित्र हैं वो सांप से बदला लेने में हमारी मदद कर सकती हैं।" 

नेवला की बात सुनकर हिरनी ने कहा - "जब तुम इतने बड़े होकर इस काम को करने में सक्षम नहीं हो, तो छोटी-छोटी चीटियां क्या करेंगी?"

नेवले ने कहा - "ऐसा मत सोंचो, वह छोटी बहुत है परंतु उनका संगठन उनकी बहुत बड़ी शक्ति होती है।" 

नेवला हिरनी को लेकर चीटियों के पास पहुंचा और चीटियों के सरदार से अजगर की सारी कहानी कह सुनाई। चीटियां हिरनी की मदद करने के लिए तैयार हो गई। उन्होंने नेवले और हिरनी को कहा कि वह किसी भी तरह हमारी सुराख के पास एक नुकीले पत्थर वाली जगह पर अजगर को ले आए। 

दूसरे दिन नेवला जाकर उसी नुकीले पत्थरों वाली जगह पर अपनी बोली बोलने लगा। अपने शत्रु की आवाज सुनकर अजगर अपने बिल से बाहर आया और नेवले को अपना निवाला बनाने के लिए उस पर आक्रमण किया।  नेवला उसी संकरे रास्ते से होता हुआ बाहर निकल गया। जब अजगर उसके पीछे उस संकरे रास्ते में से गुजरा तो उसका शरीर बुरी तरह छिल चुका था। उसी समय चीटियों की सेना ने उस पर हमला कर दिया। चीटियां उसके शरीर के नंगी त्वचा को काटने लगी और अजगर तड़प - तड़प कर वहीं मर गया।

At one place there lived a big dragon in a very dense forest. Apart from being a giant, he was also very cruel. He did not know how many animals had become his morsel. Once that python came out of its burrow in search of prey, all the animals hid.

When the dragon did not get anything, he got very angry and started crying loudly. At the same time, a deer had hidden its newborn baby from the leaves and went in search of food. With the loud hiss of the dragon, the dry leaves started flying and the newborn baby of the deer appeared. When the deer child saw the dragon, he started screaming loudly. The sight of the dragon also fell on the deer child and the dragon swallowed it. By the time the deer had also reached there, but she could not save him and kept watching her baby becoming a morsel of the dragon.

Shocked by the incident, the deer was anxious to take revenge on the python. The deer went to her friend mongoose and said that my child has been swallowed by a dragon and I want to take revenge on him. I want your help in this work.

The mongoose said in a sad voice - "Friend, if it was my thing, I would have cut it into pieces. But I am a small fat mongoose, which cannot hunt a python. But I must help you to take revenge on him. There are some ants, who are my friends, they can help us to take revenge on snakes.

Hearing the mongoose, the deer said - "When you are not able to do this work when you are so big, then what will the little ants do?"

The mongoose said - "Don't think so, she is small but her organization is her great strength."

The mongoose reached the ants with the deer and told the whole story of the dragon to the chief of the ants. The ants agreed to help the deer. He asked the mongoose and the deer to somehow bring the python to a sharp stone place near our hole.

The next day, the mongoose went and started speaking his dialect at the same sharp stone place. Hearing the voice of his enemy, the dragon came out of his burrow and attacked the mongoose to make him his morsel. The mongoose went out through the same narrow path. When the dragon passed after him through that narrow path, his body was badly peeled. At the same time the army of ants attacked him. The ants started biting the bare skin of his body and the dragon died there in agony.
