बीरबल और तानसेन का विवाद ~ Controversy of Birbal and Tansen

जैसा कि सबको विदित है, तानसेन और बीरबल दोनों ही अकबर के नौ रत्नों में से थे। एक तरफ जहां बीरबल की चतुराई और बुद्धिमत्ता का लोहा था, वहीं दूसरी तरफ तानसेन संगीत कला के रत्न थे। एक बार तानसेन और बीरबल में किसी बात को लेकर विवाद हो गया। दोनों ही अपनी - अपनी बात पर अड़े थे। जब विवाद काफी बढ़ गया और हल निकलता हुआ ना दिखाई दिया, तो दोनों बादशाह की शरण में गए। बादशाह अकबर को अपने दोनों ही रत्न प्रिय थे। वह किसी को भी नाराज नहीं करना चाहते थे। अतः उन्होंने इस बात का फैसला स्वयं ना देकर किसी और से फैसला कराने की सलाह दी।

महाराजा अकबर के इस निर्णय से बीरबल ने कहा - "हुजूर जब आपने किसी और से फैसला कराने का निश्चय किया है, तो यह भी बताएं कि किस गणमान्य व्यक्ति से हम अपना फैसला करवाएं।" बादशाह अकबर ने कहा - तुम लोग महाराणा से मिलो, मुझे यकीन है कि वह इस मामले में तुम्हारी मदद अवश्य करेंगे।

महाराजा अकबर की सलाह पर तानसेन और बीरबल महाराणा से मिले और अपना-अपना पक्ष रखा। दोनों की बातें सुनकर महाराणा कुछ सोचने लगे। तभी तानसेन ने मधुर रागिनी सुनानी शुरू कर दी। तानसेन की मधुर संगीत से महाराणा मदहोश होने लगे। जब बीरबल ने देखा कि तानसेन अपनी रागिनी से महाराणा प्रताप को अपने पक्ष में कर रहे हैं, तो उनसे रहा ना गया और वह तुरंत बोल पड़े, महाराणा जी! अब मैं आपको एक सच्ची बात बताने जा रहा हूं। जब हम दोनों आपके पास आ रहे थे, तो मैंने पुष्कर जी में जाकर प्रार्थना की थी कि मेरा पक्ष सही होगा तो 100 गाय दान करूंगा और मियां तानसेन जी ने प्रार्थना कर यह मन्नत मांगी कि यदि वह सही होंगे तो 100 गायों की कुर्बानी देंगे। महाराणा जी अब 100 गायों की जिंदगी आपके हाथों में है।

बीरबल की बात सुनकर महाराणा चौक गए और बोले - "तानसेन गौ हत्या के बारे में सोच कैसे सकते हैं ?" उन्होंने तुरंत बीरबल के पक्ष को सही बताया। जब बादशाह अकबर तक यह बात पहुंची तो वह बहुत जोर से हंसने लगे।

Controversy of Birbal and Tansen

As is well known, both Tansen and Birbal were among the nine gems of Akbar. On one side, where Birbal had the iron of cleverness and intelligence, on the other side Tansen was the jewel of musical art. Once there was a dispute between Tansen and Birbal about something. Both were adamant on their words. When the dispute escalated and nothing seemed to be resolved, the two went to the Emperor's shelter. Emperor Akbar loved both his gems. He did not want to offend anyone. Therefore, he advised not to decide on this matter and decide from someone else.

With this decision of Maharaja Akbar, Birbal said - "Huzoor, when you have decided to get a decision from someone else, then also tell which dignitary we should make our decision." Emperor Akbar said - Meet you Maharana, I am sure that he will definitely help you in this matter.

On the advice of Maharaja Akbar, Tansen and Birbal met the Maharana and presented their side. Hearing both of them, Maharana started thinking something. That's when Tansen started listening to the melodious Ragini. Maharana started getting drunk with the melodious music of Tansen. When Birbal saw that Tansen was doing Maharana Pratap in his favor with his ragini, he did not stop and he immediately said, Maharana ji! Now I am going to tell you one true thing. When both of us were coming to you, I went to Pushkar ji and prayed that if my favor is right, I will donate 100 cows and Mian Tansen ji prayed that he would sacrifice 100 cows if he was right. Maharana Ji, now the life of 100 cows is in your hands.

Hearing Birbal, Maharana went to the Chowk and said - "How can Tansen think about cow slaughter?" He immediately corrected Birbal's side. When Emperor Akbar reached this point, he started laughing very loudly.
