बुद्धिमान मुर्गे की कथा

अपने सैकड़ों रिश्तेदारों के साथ एक वन में एक मुर्गा रहता था। अन्य मुर्गों से वह कहीं ज्यादा बड़ा और हृष्ट पुष्ट था। उसी वन में एक जंगली बिल्ली रहती थी। उसने मुर्गे के कई रिश्तेदारों को मार दिया था और उनको अपना आहार बना लिया था उसकी नजर अब उस मोटे मुर्गे पर थी अनेक यत्न करने पर भी वह उसे पकड़ नहीं पा रही थी अंततः उसने जुगत लगाई और 1 दिन उस पेड़ के नीचे पहुंची जिसके ऊपर वह मुर्गा बैठा हुआ था बिल्ली ने कहा हे मुर्गे मैं तुमसे प्यार करती हूं तुम्हारी सुंदरता प्रमुख दूं तुम्हारे पंख और कल भी बड़े आकर्षक हैं मुझे तुम अपनी पत्नी स्वीकार करो और तत्काल नीचे आ जाओ ताकि मैं तुम्हारी सेवा कर सकूं

मुर्गा बड़ा बुद्धिमान था उसने कहा :-

"ओ बिल्ली! तेरे हैं चार पैर

मेरे हैं दो

ढूंढ ले कोई और वर

क्योंकि सुंदर साथ होते नहीं

कभी एक पक्षी और एक जंगली जानवर"

बिल्ली ने मुर्गे को जब फिर से फुसलाना चाहा तो मुर्गे ने उससे कहा:-

"ओ बिल्ली, तूने मेरे रिश्तेदारों का खून पिया है। मेरे लिए भी तेरे मन में कोई दया भाव नहीं है। तू फिर क्यों मेरी पत्नी बनने की इच्छा जाहिर कर रही है।"

मुर्गे के मुख से कटु सत्य को सुनकर और स्वयं के ठुकराए जाने की शर्म से वह बिल्ली उस जगह से तत्काल प्रस्थान कर गई और उस पेड़ के आसपास फिर कभी भी दिखाई नहीं पड़ी।

शिक्षा/Moral : कभी किसी के बहकावे में नहीं आना चाहिए तथा अपने बुद्धि से काम लेना चाहिए।

English Translate

The Story of a Rooster
