इसमें कोई दो राय नहीं कि गोवा हमेशा से ही लोगों के बीच 'बीच डेस्टिनेशन' के कारण काफी लोकप्रिय रहा है। गोवा में खूबसूरत समुद्र के अलावा और भी कई आकर्षक चीजें हैं, देखने लायक जैसे - किले, गिरजाघर, वाइल्ड लाइफ सेंचुरी और साथ ही खूबसूरत वाटरफॉल भी।

जी हां गोवा में कई सारे खूबसूरत वाटरफॉल है जो पर्यटकों को अपनी ओर काफी आकर्षित करते हैं जिनमें से एक है "दूधसागर वाटरफॉल"।

दूधसागर जाना यानी दूध जैसा सफेद झरना.. जिसकी खूबसूरती देखते ही बनती है। झरना दो राज्यों की सीमा पर स्थित है। गोवा - कर्नाटक बॉर्डर से माण्डवी नदी गुजरती है, जिस पर यह झरना स्थित है। यह जलप्रपात 'भगवान महावीर वन्यजीव अभ्यारण्य' और 'मोल्लेम राष्ट्रीय उद्यान' के बीच स्थित है जोकि "सांगुएम ताल्लुका" में  है(सांगुएम ताल्लुका अपने वानर मारे जनजाति के लिए प्रसिद्ध है)। मांडवी नदी की उत्पत्ति कर्नाटक के दक्कन के पठार से होकर पश्चिमी घाट अर्थात सहकारी पर्वत के उच्च चोटी से होकर बहती है। नदी का पानी अपने केंद्र से अत्यधिक गहरी मार्ग से होते हुए पश्चिम में अरब सागर से जाकर मिलती है। इस झरने का पानी 310 मीटर की ऊंचाई से होकर पर्वत के बड़े घेरे में बिखर जाता है और इतना स्वच्छ और निर्मल पानी नीचे गिरता है ,जिससे यह दूधिया रंग का प्रतीत होता है ,यही वजह है कि इसका नाम दूधसागर जलप्रपात(दूध का समुद्र) रख दिया गया । पणजी से इसकी दूरी लगभग 60 किलोमीटर है।यह देशी व विदेशी सभी पर्यटकों का पसंदीदा स्थान बन गया है।

यहां पर आसानी से सड़क मार्ग द्वारा पहुंचा जा सकता है, जो मोल्लेम राष्ट्रीय उद्यान के जंगलों से होकर गुजरती है। यह मानसून के दौरान पर्यटकों का हुजूम उड़ता है। दूधसागर जलप्रपात सबसे ऊंचे झरनों की सूची में भारत में पांचवें स्थान पर और विश्व में 227 वें स्थान पर है। इस झरना की ऊंचाई 310 मीटर और औसत चौड़ाई लगभग 30 मीटर है। दूधसागर जलप्रपात मानसून के दौरान पर्यटकों को ज्यादा आकर्षित करता है।

गोवा में बीच और क्लबों के भीड़-भाड़ से अलग यह रोमांचकारी और अद्भुत दुनिया को देखने में 1 दिन का पूरा समय लग जाता है। यहां झरने में तैरने के साथ-साथ अपने चारों ओर बंदरों के उछलने और कूदने का भी आनंद लिया जा सकता है। दूधसागर देखने जाने का सही समय मानसून के बाद अक्टूबर में है उस समय यहां का मौसम अत्यंत सुहावना एवं दृश्य मनोरम  होता है।
