बीरबल ने चोर को पकड़ा

यह कहानी बादशाह अकबर के जमाने की है। एक बार एक व्यापारी अपने किसी काम से कुछ दिनों के लिए प्रदेश से दूर गया हुआ था। जब वह अपना काम खत्म करके घर पहुंचा, तो देखता है कि उसकी पूरी तिजोरी खाली है। उसकी मेहनत की सारी कमाई चोरी हो चुकी है। व्यापारी घबरा गया और उसने अपने घर के सारे नौकरों को बुलाया। व्यापारी के घर में कुल 5 नौकर थे। व्यापारी की एक आवाज पर सारे नौकर उसके सामने आकर खड़े हो गए।

व्यापारी ने उनसे पूछा, “तुम लोगों के होते हुए घर में इतनी बड़ी चोरी कैसे हो गई? जब चोर आकर मेरी पूरी तिजोरी साफ कर गया, उस समय कहां थे सब के सब?” एक नौकर ने जवाब दिया, “हमें नहीं पता ये चोरी कब हुई मालिक। हम सो रहे थे।” उसकी यह बात सुनकर व्यापारी गुस्से से आग बबूला हो उठा और बोला, “मुझे तो लगता है कि तुम पांच में से किसी एक ने ही चोरी की है। तुम्हारा हिसाब अब बादशाह अकबर ही करेंगे।” यह कहता हुआ वो महल की ओर चल पड़ा।

बादशाह अकबर अपने दरबार में बैठकर जनता की समस्या सुन रहे थे कि तभी व्यापारी वहां पहुंच गया। व्यापारी ने कहा, “न्याय हुजूर, न्याय, मेरी समस्या को दूर करें।” बादशाह ने पूछा, “क्या हुआ? कौन हो तुम और क्या है तुम्हारी समस्या?” व्यापारी बोला, “मैं आप ही के राज्य में रहने वाला एक व्यापारी हूं, महाराज। एक जरूरी काम से कुछ दिनों के लिए प्रदेश से बाहर गया था। जब वापस आया, तो मेरी सारी तिजोरी लुट चुकी थी। मैं बर्बाद हो गया, हुजूर। मेरी मदद करें।”

यह सुनकर बादशाह ने व्यापारी से कुछ सवाल पूछे, जैसे कितना सामान चोरी हुआ, क्या उसे किसी पर शक है आदि। सवालों के जवाब मिलने के बाद अकबर ने व्यापारी का मामला बीरबल को सौंप दिया और कहा कि असली चोर को पकड़ने में बीरबल उसकी मदद करेंगे।

अगले दिन बीरबल व्यापारी के घर पहुंचे। उन्होंने सभी नौकरों को बुलाया और उनसे पूछा कि चोरी की रात वो सभी कहां थे? सभी ने कहा कि वो व्यापारी के घर में ही रहते हैं और उस रात भी व्यापारी के घर में ही सो रहे थे।

बीरबल ने उनकी बात मान ली और कहा, “आप सभी को परेशान होने की जरूरत नहीं है। मेरे हाथ में ये पांच जादुई लकड़ियां हैं। मैं आप सभी को एक-एक लकड़ी दूंगा। जो भी चोर होगा, उसकी लकड़ी आज रात दो इंच लंबी हो जाएगी और चोर पकड़ा जाएगा। हम सभी कल यहीं मिलेंगे।” यह कह बीरबल ने सबसे हाथ में एक-एक लकड़ी पकड़ाई और वहां से चले गए।

दिन ढल गया। अगले दिन बीरबल फिर से व्यापारी के घर पहुंचे और उन्होंने सभी नौकरों को अपनी अपनी लकड़ी के साथ बुलाया। जब बीरबल ने सबकी लकड़ी देखी, तो उन्होंने देखा कि एक नौकर की लकड़ी दो इंच छोटी है।

बस फिर क्या था। बीरबल ने तुरंत सिपाहियों को उस नौकर को पकड़ने का आदेश दिया। व्यापारी इस पूरी घटना को समझ नहीं पाया और असमंजस से बीरबल की तरफ देखने लगा। बीरबल ने व्यापारी को समझाया कि कोई लकड़ी जादुई नहीं थी, लेकिन चोर को इस बात का डर था कि उसकी लकड़ी दो इंच बड़ी हो जाएगी और इस डर से उसने अपनी लकड़ी को दो इंच काट दिया और वह पकड़ा गया। व्यापारी बीरबल की चतुराई से बहुत प्रभावित हुआ और उसका धन्यवाद किया।

Moral/शिक्षा:-
इस कहानी से हमें यह सीख मिलती है कि गलत काम चाहे जितना भी चतुराई से किया जाए, लेकिन वो सभी की नजरों में आ जाता है और उसका अंजाम हमेशा बुरा ही होता है।

Only Emperor Akbar will calculate you. Saying this, he walked towards the palace.

Emperor Akbar was sitting in his court listening to the public's problem when the merchant reached there. The merchant said, "Justice, justice, remove my problem." The king asked, "What happened? Who are you and what is your problem? " The merchant said, "I am a businessman living in your kingdom, Maharaj. Went out of the state for a few days from an urgent work. When I came back, all my vault was robbed. I'm devastated, Huzoor. Help me. "

Hearing this, the king asked the businessman some questions, such as how much was stolen, does he suspect anyone etc. After answering the questions, Akbar handed over the businessman's case to Birbal and said that Birbal would help him in catching the real thief.

The next day Birbal reached the merchant's house. He called all the servants and asked them where they were all on the night of the robbery. Everyone said that they live in the merchant's house and that night they were sleeping in the merchant's house itself.

Birbal obeyed him and said, "All of you need not get upset. I have these five magical woods in my hand. I will give each one of you wood. Whoever would be a thief, his wood would be two inches long tonight and the thief would be caught. We will all meet here tomorrow. " Saying this, Birbal grabbed each wood in his hand and went away.

The day set. The next day Birbal again arrived at the merchant's house and called all the servants with their own wood. When Birbal saw the wood of everyone, he saw that the wood of a servant is two inches smaller.

There was no second thought after that. Birbal immediately ordered the soldiers to capture that servant. The businessman could not understand the whole incident and looked at Birbal with confusion. Birbal explained to the merchant that no wood was magical, but the thief feared that his wood would grow two inches larger, fearing that he cut his wood two inches and was caught. The businessman was very impressed by Birbal's cleverness and thanked him.
