कैसे मिला भीम को दस हजार हाथियों का बल

महाभारत तो हर हिंदुस्तानी ने देखी होगी और महाभारत कथा से सभी अवगत हैं। महाभारत में कई योद्धा बहुत ही शक्तिशाली थे, परंतु उनमें से पांडु पुत्र भीम के लिए यह कहा जाता है कि भीम के अंदर 10000 हाथियों का बल था। साधारण  मनुष्य से दिखने वाले भीम के अंदर 10000 हाथियों का बल कहां से आया? इस रहस्य के बारे में शायद कम लोगों को ही पता होगा। तो चलिए आज जानते हैं इस रहस्य के बारे में। 

जैसा कि सर्व विदित है कि भीम के पिता का नाम पांडु और माता का नाम कुंती था। उनके बड़े भाई धर्मराज युधिष्ठिर, अर्जुन, नकुल और सहदेव थे। महाभारत के अनुसार जब पांडवों का जन्म हुआ, उसके कुछ दिन बाद पांडु का निधन हो गया। उस समय पांडु अपनी पत्नी कुंती और माद्री के साथ वन में रहते थे।

पाण्डु की मृत्यु के पश्चात पांडव हस्तिनापुर आ गए, जहां उनके वैदिक संस्कार सम्पन्न हुए। पाण्डव तथा कौरव साथ ही खेलने लगे। दौडऩे में, निशाना लगाने तथा कुश्ती आदि सभी खेलों में भीम सभी धृतराष्ट्र पुत्रों को हरा देते थे। इससे दुर्योधन के मन में भीमसेन के प्रति दुर्भावना पैदा हो गई। भीमसेन को मार डालने के उद्देश्य से दुर्योधन ने एक बार खेलने के लिए गंगा तट पर शिविर लगवाया। उस स्थान का नाम रखा उदकक्रीडन। 

दुर्योधन ने पाण्डवों को भी वहां बुलाया और मौका पाकर दुर्योधन ने भीम के भोजन में विष मिला दिया। विष के असर से भीम अचेत हो गए। अचेत अवस्था में दुर्योधन ने दु:शासन के साथ मिलकर भीम को गंगा में डाल दिया। भीम इसी अवस्था में नागलोक पहुंच गए जहां सांपों ने भीम को खूब डंसा जिसके प्रभाव से विष का असर कम हो गया। 

जब भीम को होश आया तो वे सर्पों को मारने लगे। सभी सर्प डरकर नागराज वासुकि के पास गए और पूरी बात बताई, तब वासुकि स्वयं भीमसेन के पास गए। उनके साथ आर्यक नाग ने भीम को पहचान लिया। आर्यक नाग भीम के नाना का नाना थे। वह भीम से बड़े प्रेम से मिले। तब आर्यक ने वासुकि से कहा कि भीम को उन कुण्डों का रस पीने की आज्ञा दी जाए जिनमें हजारों हाथियों का बल है। वासुकि ने इसकी स्वीकृति दे दी। 

तब भीम आठ कुण्ड पीकर एक दिव्य शय्या पर सो गए और आठवें दिन रस पच जाने पर जागे। तब नागों ने भीम को गंगा के बाहर छोड़ दिया। भीम के सकुशल देखकर जहां माता कुंती और उनके भाइयों को संतोष हुआ वहीं दुर्योधन और दु:शासन तिलमिला उठे। 

हस्तिनापुर पहुंचने के बाद भीन ने माता कुंती और अपने भाइयों को दुर्योधन द्वारा देकर गंगा में फेंकने और विष और नागों द्वारा उन्हें हजार हाथियों के बल की बात बताई। तब युधिष्ठिर ने भीम से कहा कि वो यह बात किसी को भी न बताएं और पांडवों ने इसे गुप्त ही रखा।

Every Indian must have seen the Mahabharata and everyone is aware of the Mahabharata story. Many warriors were very powerful in Mahabharata, but among them it is said for Pandu's son Bhima that Bhima had the strength of 10000 elephants. Where did the strength of 10,000 elephants come from inside Bhima who is visible to an ordinary man? Perhaps only a few people would know about this secret. So let's know about this secret today.

As is well known that Bhima's father's name was Pandu and mother's name was Kunti. His elder brothers were Dharmaraja Yudhishthira, Arjuna, Nakula and Sahadeva. According to the Mahabharata, when the Pandavas were born, Pandu died a few days later. At that time Pandu lived in the forest with his wife Kunti and Madri.

After the death of Pandu, the Pandavas came to Hastinapur, where their Vedic rites were performed. Pandavas and Kauravas started playing together. Bhima used to defeat all the sons of Dhritarashtra in running, shooting and wrestling etc. Due to this Duryodhana's mind developed a grudge against Bhimsen. With the aim of killing Bhimsen, Duryodhana once set up a camp on the banks of the Ganges to play. That place was named Udakridan.

Duryodhana also called the Pandavas there and taking the opportunity, Duryodhana mixed poison in Bhima's food. Bhim became unconscious due to the effect of poison. In an unconscious state, Duryodhana, along with Dushasana, threw Bhima into the Ganges. Bhima reached Naglok in this condition where snakes stung Bhima a lot, due to which the effect of poison reduced.

When Bhima regained consciousness, he started killing snakes. All the snakes went to Nagraj Vasuki in fear and told the whole thing, then Vasuki himself went to Bhimsen. Aryak Nag recognized Bhima with him. Aryak Nag was the maternal grandfather of Bhima. He met Bhima with great love. Then Aryak told Vasuki that Bhima should be allowed to drink the juice of those pools which have the strength of thousands of elephants. Vasuki approved it.

Then Bhima slept on a divine bed after drinking eight pots and woke up on the eighth day after the juice was digested. Then the serpents left Bhima outside the Ganges. Where mother Kunti and her brothers were satisfied on seeing Bhima safely, Duryodhana and Dushasan were shocked.

After reaching Hastinapur, Bhin told mother Kunti and her brothers about throwing them in the Ganges by Duryodhana and the strength of a thousand elephants by poison and snakes. Then Yudhishthira told Bhima not to tell this thing to anyone and the Pandavas kept it a secret.
