बाघिन और गुरु की करुणा की कथा 

 कुलीन वंश में जन्म लेकर एक बार एक पंडित संसार से वितृष्ण हो सन्यासी का जीवन यापन करने लगे। उसके आध्यात्मिक विकास और संवाद से प्रभावित होकर कुछ ही दिनों में अनेक सन्यासी उनके अनुयायी हो गए। 

एक दिन अपने प्रिय शिष्य अजीत के साथ जब वह एक वन में घूम रहे थे, तब उनकी दृष्टि वन के एक खड़क पर पड़ी जहां भूख से तड़पती एक व्याघ्री अपने ही नन्हे-मुन्ने बच्चों को खाने का उपक्रम कर रही थी। गुरु की करुणा व्याघ्री और उसके बच्चों के लिए उमर पड़ी। उन्होंने अजीत को पास की बस्ती से व्याघ्री और उसके बच्चों के लिए कुछ भोजन लाने के लिए भेज दिया। फिर जैसे ही अजीत उसकी दृष्टि से ओझल हुआ, वह तत्काल खाई में कूद पड़ा और स्वयं को व्याघ्री के समक्ष प्रस्तुत कर दिया। भूखी व्याघ्री उस पर टूट पड़ी और क्षणभर में उसके चिथडे उड़ा दिए।

अजीत जब लौटकर उसी स्थान पर आया उसने गुरु को वहां ना पाया। जब उसने चारों तरफ नजरें घूमई तो उसकी दृष्टि खाई में बाघिन और उसके बच्चों पर पड़ी। वह खूब प्रसन्न हो किलकारियां भरते दिख रहे थे। किंतु उन से थोड़ी दूर पर खून से सने कुछ कपड़ों के चिथड़े बिखरे हुए थे जो, निसंदेह उसके गुरु के थे। गुरु ने व्याघ्री के नन्हे बच्चों की जान बचाने के लिए अपने प्राणों की बलि चढ़ा दी थी। गुरु की करुणा और त्याग से उसका शीश श्रद्धा से झुक गया।

The story of Compassion of tigress & Master

 Once born in noble lineage, once a Pandit became an exterminator from the world and started living a monk. Impressed by his spiritual development and dialogue, in a few days many saints became his followers.

 One day while he was walking in a forest with his beloved disciple Ajit, he had a vision of a forest where a Vyagri, suffering from hunger, was venturing to feed his little ones. The Guru's compassion fell to Vyaghri and her children. He dispatches Ajit from a nearby colony to fetch some food for Vyaghri and her children. Then as soon as Ajit disappeared from his sight, he immediately jumped into the abyss and presented himself to Vyaghri. The hungry Vyagri broke on him and in a moment blew his rags.

 When Ajit returned to the same place, he did not find the Guru there. When he turned around, he saw the tigress and her children in the ditch. He was very happy and was seen filling the carvings. But at some distance away from them were scattered some blood stained clothes, which were undoubtedly of his master. The Guru sacrificed his life to save the lives of Vyagri's young children. His head bowed with reverence to the Guru's compassion and sacrifice.
