आज दिनांक 11 सितंबर दिन रविवार को भारत सरकार ने ब्रिटेन की महारानी एलिजाबेथ द्वितीय के निधन के बाद पूरे भारतवर्ष में 1 दिन का राजकीय शोक मनाने की घोषणा की है। आज भारतीय तिरंगा आधा झुका रहेगा।

जैसा कि आप सभी को विदित है कि गुरुवार दिनांक 8 सितंबर को 96 वर्ष की आयु में महारानी एलिजाबेथ द्वितीय का निधन हो गया। भारत सरकार द्वारा फैसला लिया गया है, कि ब्रिटेन की महारानी एलिजाबेथ द्वितीय के निधन के बाद पूरे भारतवर्ष में 11 सितंबर को 1 दिन का राजकीय शोक रहेगा।

महारानी एलिजाबेथ सबसे लंबे समय तक अपने देश पर शासन करने वाली महारानी थी। पिछले कुछ दिनों से महारानी की तबीयत खराब चल रही थी उन्हें डॉक्टरों की निगरानी में रखा गया था। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी से लेकर अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति जो बिडेन तक सभी वैश्विक नेताओं ने एलिजाबेथ द्वितीय को श्रद्धांजलि दी है।

क्वीन एलिजाबेथ 1952 से 2022 में अपनी मृत्यु तक यूनाइटेड किंगडम और अन्य राष्ट्रमंडल की महारानी थी। अपने 70 साल के शासनकाल के दौरान एलिजाबेथ तीन बार भारत आईं। महारानी 1961 में पहली बार भारत आई थीं। तत्पश्चात 1983 और 1997 में भी उन्होंने भारत का दौरा किया था। 1961 में जब वह पहली बार भारत के दौरे पर आई थी, तब उनके स्वागत के लिए तत्कालीन राष्ट्रपति डॉ राजेंद्र प्रसाद, प्रधानमंत्री जवाहरलाल नेहरू और उपराष्ट्रपति सर्वपल्ली राधाकृष्णन दिल्ली हवाई अड्डे पर उनकी स्वागत के लिए मौजूद थे। वह 50 वर्षों में भारत आने वाली प्रथम ब्रिटिश शासक थी। इतिहासकारों के अनुसार बताया गया है कि महारानी एलिजाबेथ गणतंत्र दिवस परेड में मुख्य अतिथि बनीं। जवाहरलाल नेहरू ने दिल्ली के रामलीला मैदान में एलिजाबेथ के स्वागत के लिए एक भव्य कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया था। एलिज़ाबेथ यह देखकर बहुत ही हैरान थी कि उन्हें देखने के लिए इतने लोग आ सकते हैं और इसके लिए उन्होंने भारतीय जनता को आभार प्रकट किया था।
