भगवान खाटू श्याम की महिमा

भगवान खाटू श्याम की महिमा से कौन भला अपरिचित है। उनकी महिमा उनकी कृपा अटूट है, अपने भक्तों पर। यूं हीं नहीं कहते "हारे का सहारा बाबा खाटू श्याम हमारा", ऐसे बने खाटू श्याम भगवान। 

खाटू श्याम बर्बरीक के रूप है। श्रीकृष्ण ने ही बर्बरीक को खाटूश्यामजी नाम दिया था। भगवान श्रीकृष्ण के कलयुगी अवतार खाटू श्यामजी खाटू में विराजित हैं। 

वीर घटोत्कच और मौरवी को एक पुत्ररतन की प्राप्ति हुई, जिसके बाल बब्बर शेर की तरह होने के कारण इनका नाम बर्बरीक रखा गया। बर्बरीक को आज हम खाटू के श्याम, कलयुग के अवतार, श्याम सरकार, तीन बाणधारी, शीश के दानी, खाटू नरेश व अन्य अनगिनत नामों से जानते व मानते हैं। कृष्ण वीर बर्बरीक के महान् बलिदान से काफ़ी प्रसन्न हुये और वरदान दिया कि कलियुग में तुम श्याम नाम से जाने जाओगे, क्योंकि कलियुग में हारे हुये का साथ देने वाला ही श्याम नाम धारण करने में समर्थ है। खाटूनगर तुम्हारा धाम बनेगा और उनका शीश खाटूनगर में दफ़नाया गया। ब्राह्मण ने बालक बर्बरीक से दान की अभिलाषा व्यक्त की, इस पर वीर बर्बरीक ने उन्हें वचन दिया कि अगर वो उनकी अभिलाषा पूर्ण करने में समर्थ होगा तो अवश्य करेगा। कृष्ण ने उनसे शीश का दान माँगा। बालक बर्बरीक क्षण भर के लिये चकरा गया, परन्तु उसने अपने वचन की दृढ़ता जताई। 

बालक बर्बरीक ने ब्राह्मण से अपने वास्तविक रूप से अवगत कराने की प्रार्थना की और कृष्ण के बारे में सुन कर बालक ने उनके विराट रूप के दर्शन की अभिलाषा व्यक्त की, कृष्ण ने उन्हें अपना विराट रूप दिखाया। उन्होंने बर्बरीक को समझाया कि युद्ध आरम्भ होने से पहले युद्धभूमि की पूजा के लिये एक वीर्यवीर क्षत्रिय के शीश के दान की आवश्यकता होती है, उन्होंने बर्बरीक को युद्ध में सबसे वीर की उपाधि से अलंकृत किया, अतैव उनका शीश दान में माँगा।

बर्बरीक ने उनसे प्रार्थना की कि वह अंत तक युद्ध देखना चाहता है, श्री कृष्ण ने उनकी यह बात स्वीकार कर ली।

फाल्गुन माह की द्वादशी को उन्होंने अपने शीश का दान दिया। भगवान ने उस शीश को अमृत से सींच कर सबसे ऊँची जगह पर रख दिया, ताकि वह महाभारत युद्ध देख सके। उनका सिर युद्धभूमि के समीप ही एक पहाड़ी पर सुशोभित किया गया, जहाँ से बर्बरीक सम्पूर्ण युद्ध का जायजा ले सकते थे।

खाटू की स्थापना राजा खट्टवांग ने की थी। खट्टवां ने ही बभ्रुवाहन के बर्बरीकद्ध के देवरे में बर्बरीक के सिर की प्राण प्रतिष्ठा करवाई थी।

खाटू की स्थापना के विषय में अन्य मत प्रचलित है।

कई विद्वान् इसे महाभारत के पहले का मानते हैं, तो कई इसे ईसा पूर्व के समय का मानते है, लेकिन कुल मिलाकर विद्वानों की एकमत राय यह है कि बभु्रवाहन के देवरे में सिर की प्रतिमा की स्थापना महाभारत के पश्चात्‌ हुई।

उनका शीश खाटू में दफ़नाया गया था और बाद में वहाँ सफ़ेद संगमरमर का खाटू श्यामजी मंदिर बनावाया गया था। एक बार एक गाय उस स्थान पर आकर अपने स्तनों से दुग्ध की धारा स्वतः ही बहा रही थी, बाद में खुदायी के बाद वह शीश प्रकट हुआ, जिसे कुछ दिनों के लिये एक ब्राह्मण को सुपुर्द कर दिया गया। एक बार खाटू के राजा को स्वप्न में मन्दिर निर्माण के लिये और वह शीश मन्दिर में सुशोभित करने के लिये प्रेरित किया गया। 

तदन्तर उस स्थान पर मन्दिर का निर्माण किया गया और कार्तिक माह की एकादशी को शीश मन्दिर में सुशोभित किया गया, जिसे बाबा श्याम के जन्मदिन के रूप में मनाया जाता है। खाटू श्याम जी का मुख्य मंदिर राजस्थान के सीकर ज़िले के गाँव खाटू में बना हुआ है।

खाटू श्याम मंदिर कहाँ स्थित है ?

राजस्थान के सीकर जिले में इनका भव्य मंदिर स्थित है, जहां हर साल बड़ी संख्या में श्रद्धालु आते हैं। लोगों का विश्वास है कि बाबा श्याम सभी की मुरादें पूर करते हैं और रंक को भी राजा बना सकते हैं, बाबा खाटू श्याम का संबंध महाभारत काल से माना जाता है। यह पांडुपुत्र भीम के पौत्र थे। 

श्याम मंदिर बहुत ही प्राचीन है

खाटू श्यामजी मंदिर में प्रत्येक वर्ष फाल्गुन मास शुक्ल पक्ष में बड़े मेले का आयोजन होता है। हर साल इस मेले में काफ़ी संख्या में देश-विदेश से श्रद्धालु आते हैं। यह मेला फागुन सुदी दशमी के आरंभ और द्वादशी के अंत में लगता है। हज़ारों श्रद्धालु यहाँ पदयात्रा करके पहुँचते हैं, वहीं कई लोग दंडवत करते हुए खाटू नरेश के दरबार में हाज़िरी देते हैं। यहाँ के एक दुकानदार रामचंद्र चेजारा के मुताबिक नवमी से द्वादशी तक लगने वाले मेले में लाखों श्रद्धालु आते हैं। प्रत्येक एकादशी और रविवार को भी यहाँ भक्तों की लंबी कतारें लगी होती हैं। यहाँ भक्तों के जीवन के समस्त पाप समाप्त हो जाते हैं और प्रभु के दर्शन मात्र से उसके जीवन में खुशियाँ और सुख शान्ति का भंडार भरना प्रारम्भ हो जाता है।

Glory of Lord Khatu Shyam

Who is unfamiliar with the glory of Lord Khatu Shyam. His glory his grace is inexhaustible, on his devotees. They don't just say "Baba Khatu Shyam Hamara, the support of the loser", this is how Khatu Shyam became God.

Khatu Shyam is the form of Barbarik. It was Shri Krishna who gave Barbaric the name Khatushyamji. Khatu Shyamji, the Kalyugi incarnation of Lord Krishna, is seated in Khatu.

Veer Ghatotkach and Maurvi were blessed with a son, who was named Barbarik because of his hair being like that of a lion. Today we know and believe Barbarik by the names of Khatu ke Shyam, Kalyug ke Avatar, Shyam Sarkar, Teen Bandhari, Sheesh ke Dani, Khatu Naresh and countless other names. Krishna was very pleased with the great sacrifice of Veer Barbarik and gave a boon that in Kaliyuga you will be known by the name Shyam, because in Kaliyuga only the one who supports the loser is able to bear the name Shyam. Khatunagar will become your abode and his head was buried in Khatunagar. The Brahmin expressed the desire of charity to the child Barbarik, on this the brave Barbarik promised him that if he is able to fulfill his wish, he will definitely do so. Krishna sought his head as benefaction. The child barbaric was confused for a moment, but he expressed the firmness of his word.

Child Barbarik prayed to Brahmin to inform about his real form and after hearing about Krishna, the child expressed his desire to see his great form, Krishna showed him his great form. He explained to Barbarik that before the start of the war, the donation of the head of a Viryaveer Kshatriya is required for the worship of the battlefield, he decorated Barbarik with the title of the most heroic in the war, so he asked for his head in donation.

Barbarik prayed to him that he wanted to see the war till the end, Shri Krishna accepted his request.

He donated his head on the Dwadashi of Falgun month. God irrigated that head with nectar and placed it on the highest place, so that he could see the Mahabharata war. His head was decorated on a hill near the battlefield, from where Barbarika could watch the entire battle.

Khatu was founded by King Khattwang. It was Khatwan who got Barbarik's head consecrated in the brother-in-law of Barbarika of Babhruvahan.

There is another opinion regarding the establishment of Khatu.

Some scholars consider it to be before the Mahabharata, while some consider it to be before the time of BC, but overall the unanimous opinion of the scholars is that the statue of the head was established in the Devra of Babhurvahan after the Mahabharata.

His head was buried in Khatu and later the white marble Khatu Shyamji temple was built there. Once a cow came to that place and automatically a stream of milk was flowing from her breasts, later after digging that head appeared, which was handed over to a Brahmin for a few days. Once the king of Khatu was inspired in a dream to build a temple and that head to beautify the temple.

Later, a temple was constructed at that place and the Ekadashi of the month of Kartik was decorated in the Sheesh temple, which is celebrated as the birthday of Baba Shyam. The main temple of Khatu Shyam ji is built in Khatu village of Sikar district of Rajasthan.

Where is Khatu Shyam Temple situated?

His grand temple is located in Sikar district of Rajasthan, where a large number of devotees come every year. People believe that Baba Shyam fulfills everyone's wishes and can even make Ranka a king, Baba Khatu Shyam's relation is believed to be from the Mahabharata period. He was the grandson of Panduputra Bhima.

Shyam Mandir is very ancient

Every year a big fair is organized in the Khatu Shyamji temple in the Shukla Paksha of Falgun month. Every year a large number of devotees from India and abroad visit this fair. This fair takes place at the beginning of Phagun Sudi Dashami and at the end of Dwadashi. Thousands of devotees reach here by foot, while many people pay obeisance and attend the court of Khatu Naresh. According to Ramchandra Chejara, a shopkeeper here, lakhs of devotees visit the fair which is held from Navami to Dwadashi. There are long queues of devotees here on every Ekadashi and also on Sundays. Here all the sins of the devotee's life are ended and the store of happiness and peace starts filling in his life just by seeing the Lord.
