चार्ली चैप्लिन / Charlie Chaplin

कहते है कला की कोई ऊमर नहीं होती। ऐसा ही कुछ एक पांच साल के बच्चे के साथ भी हुआ था, जो बङा हो कर  चार्ली चैप्लिन (Charlie Chaplin) के नाम से मसहूर हुआ।

ये उन दिनों की बात है, असीम संपदा के बावजूद ब्रिटेन में भयंकर गरीबी छाई हुई थी। अमीर अपनी मस्ती में सराबोर रहते और गरीबों को कीड़ा-मकोड़ा समझते। इसी गरीबी में पला-बढ़ा महज पांच साल का चार्ली उस दिन अपनी मां हाना के साथ थिएटर गया। उसकी मां हाना थिएटर में गाकर पेट पालती थी। उस दिन गाना गाते वक्त अचानक हाना का गला खराब हो गया। अब दर्शकों ने हूटिंग शुरू कर दी। बदहवास सा मैनेजर भागा-भागा हाना के पास पहुंचा और उससे झगड़ा करने लगा।

चार्ली ने दोनों को झगड़ते देखा तो वह दोनों के पास पहुंचा और बोला, "आप दोनों आराम से झगड़ा करिए, तब तक स्टेज पर मैं गाना गाता हूं।" मां हाना बोली, "नहीं, तुमको कुछ नहीं आता। तुम स्टेज पर नहीं जाओगे।" मगर मैनेजर पहले भी चार्ली के करतब देख चुका था, तो उसने तुरंत सहमति दे दी। मां सोचती रही कि मेरा प्यारा अबोध चार्ली कैसे इस उग्र भीड़ को झेल पाएगा? इसी बीच मैनेजर चार्ली को अपने साथ स्टेज पर लेकर गया और दर्शकों से उसका परिचय कराया।

अब चार्ली ने गाना शुरू किया। उसने गाने के लिए जैक जोंस का गाना चुना था। अभी चार्ली ने गाना आधा ही गाया था कि स्टेज पर पैसों की बौछार होने लगी। यह देखकर चार्ली ने गाना बंद कर दिया और बोला, "पहले मैं पैसे उठाऊंगा, फिर गाऊंगा।" उसके यह कहते ही पूरा हॉल हंसी के ठहाकों से गूंज उठा। इसके बाद तो चार्ली ने डांस भी किया और अपनी मां की मिमिक्री भी की। उस दिन पूरा हॉल लगातार ठहाकों से गूंजता रहा। महज पांच साल की उम्र में यह कारनामा करने वाला बालक आगे चलकर चार्ली चैप्लिन के नाम से मशहूर हुआ, जो अपने जीवन के बाद आज तक लोगों को हंसा रहा है।

कहते है दुनिया मे कितने गम है, हर इंसान किसी न किसी वजह से दुखी है। खुश रहने की वजह इंसान की जिन्दगी से खत्म होती जा रही है। इन सबके बीच कुछ पल की ही सही अगर कोई आप को हंसने की वजह दे दे, तो क्या बात हो...

ऐसा ही कुछ किया है चार्ली चैप्लिन ने, जिसने खुद को ऐसे किरदार में ढाला कि लोग हंस हंस के लोट पोट हो जाते हैं। चार्ली चैपलिन के जीवन से संबंधित कुछ और मजेदार बातों (रोचक तथ्यों) के साथ फिर मिलते हैं।

It is said that art has no age. Something similar happened with a five-year-old child, who grew up to be famous as Charlie Chaplin.

It was a matter of those days, in spite of immense wealth, there was severe poverty in Britain. The rich were drenched in their fun and considered the poor as worms. Growing up in this poverty, Charlie, just five years old, went to the theater with his mother Hana that day. Her mother Hana used to feed her by singing in the theatre. Hana's throat suddenly broke while she was singing that day. Now the audience started hooting. The disgruntled manager ran to Hana and started quarreling with her.

When Charlie saw both of them quarreling, he reached to both of them and said, "You two fight comfortably, till then I sing a song on the stage." Mother Hana said, "No, you don't know anything. You will not go on stage." But the manager had already seen Charlie's tricks, so he immediately agreed. Mother kept thinking that how my dear innocent Charlie will be able to withstand this furious crowd? Meanwhile, the manager took Charlie with him to the stage and introduced him to the audience.

Now Charlie starts singing. He chose Jack Jones's song for the song. Charlie had just sung the song halfway when money started pouring in on the stage. Seeing this, Charlie stopped singing and said, "First I will raise the money, then I will sing." As soon as he said this, the whole hall erupted with laughter. After this, Charlie also danced and mimicked his mother. That day the whole hall resonated with laughter. At the age of just five, the boy who did this feat later became famous as Charlie Chaplin, who is making people laugh till date after his life.

It is said that there is so much sorrow in the world, every person is unhappy due to one reason or the other. The reason for being happy is getting exhausted from human life. In the midst of all this, if someone gives you a reason to laugh for a few moments, then what is the matter...
