बल्लालेश्वर मंदिर (पालीगांव रायगढ़)

महाराष्ट्र के रायगढ़ जिले के पाली गांव में अष्टविनायक तीर्थ के तीसरे पड़ाव कहे जाते हैं।

यहां विराजे गणेश जी का एक अद्भुत स्वरूप बल्लालेश्वर (Ballaleshwar) है। भगवान गणेश के 8 स्वरूपों को देखने का सौभाग्य प्राप्त होता है। यहां पर प्रतिदिन भक्त अपनी मनोकामना के साथ भगवान गणेश के बल्लालेश्वर स्वरूप का दर्शन करने आते हैं। महीने की चतुर्थी वाले दिन बड़ी संख्या में लोग पूरे विधि विधान से गणेश जी की पूजा करने आते हैं। बल्लालेश्वर की मूर्ति प्राचीन काल की है। भगवान बल्लालेश्वर ब्राह्मण की पोशाक में हैं।

किवदंती

पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार, पाली गांव में कल्याण और इंदुमती नाम के एक सेठ दंपति रहते थे। उनका बल्लाल नाम का इकलौता पुत्र श्री गणेश का परम भक्त था। उसके भक्ति से सेठ खुश नहीं थे, क्योंकि भक्ति में मग्न उनका बेटा व्यवसाय में कोई विशेष रूचि नहीं लेता था। वह अपने दोस्तों से भी गणपति की भक्ति के लिए कहता था।इस बात से परेशान दोस्तों के माता-पिता ने सेठ से शिकायत की और उसे रोकने के लिए कहा। इस पर कल्याण सेठ गुस्से में बल्लाल को ढूंढने निकले, तो वह जंगल में गणेश जी की आराधना करते हुए मिला। उन्होंने उसे खूब पीटा और गणेश की प्रतिमा खंडित कर उसे दूर फेंक दिया। इसके बाद उसे वहीं जंगल में एक वृक्ष से बांधकर यह कह कर छोड़ गए कि भूखे प्यासे रहकर उसकी अक्ल ठिकाने आ जाएगी। सेठ के जाने के बाद बल्लाल की भक्ति से प्रसन्न श्री गणेश उसके समक्ष ब्राह्मण के भेष में प्रकट हुए और उसे बंधन मुक्त करके वरदान मांगने को कहा। इस पर बल्लाल ने उसे अपने क्षेत्र में स्थापित होने का अनुरोध किया श्री गणेश ने उनकी इच्छा पूरी करते हुए स्वयं को एक पाषाण प्रतिमा में स्थापित कर लिया और तब उस स्थान पर कलाल विनायक मंदिर बनाया गया। साथ ही शिव मंदिर के पास बलराम के पिता द्वारा फेंकी गई प्रतिमा ढूंडी विनायक के नाम से मौजूद है। आज भी लोग बल्लालेश्वर के दर्शन से पहले ढूंडी विनायक की पूजा करते हैं।

मंदिर का स्थापत्य

इस मंदिर में गणपति की प्रतिमा पत्थर के सिंहासन पर स्थापित है।पूर्व की ओर मुख वाली 3 फीट ऊंची प्रतिमा स्वयंभू है, और इसमें श्री गणेश की सूंड बायीं ओर मुड़ी हुई है। प्रतिमा के नेत्रों और नाभि में हीरे जड़े हुए हैं।श्री गणेश के दोनों ओर रिद्धि सिद्धि की प्रतिमाएं भी है जो चंवर लहरा रही हैं। बताते हैं कि बल्लालेश्वर का प्राचीन मंदिर काष्ट का बना था। कालांतर में इसके पुनर्निर्माण के समय पाषाढ़ का उपयोग हुआ है। मंदिर के पास दो सरोवर भी हैं। उनमें से एक का जल भगवान गणेश को अर्पित किया जाता है।कहते हैं कि ऊंचाई से इस मंदिर को देखा जाए तो यह देवनागरी के श्री अक्षर की भांति दिखता है।

Ballaleshwar Temple (Paligaon Raigad)

It is said to be the third stop of Ashtavinayak pilgrimage in Pali village of Raigad district of Maharashtra.

There is a wonderful form of Ganesh ji sitting here, Ballaleshwar. One gets the privilege of seeing 8 forms of Lord Ganesha. Here devotees come here every day with their wishes to see the Ballaleshwar form of Lord Ganesha. On the day of Chaturthi of the month, a large number of people come to worship Lord Ganesha with full rituals. The idol of Ballaleshwar dates back to ancient times. Lord Ballaleshwar is dressed as a Brahmin.

Legend

According to the legend, there lived a Seth couple named Kalyan and Indumati in the village of Pali. His only son named Ballal was a great devotee of Shri Ganesha. Seth was not happy with his devotion, because his son, engrossed in devotion, did not take any special interest in business. He used to ask his friends also to worship Ganapati. The parents of friends upset by this complained to Seth and asked him to stop. On this, Kalyan Seth angrily went out to look for Ballal, then he was found worshiping Ganesha in the forest. They beat him severely and broke the idol of Ganesha and threw it away. After this, tied him to a tree in the forest and left him saying that after being hungry and thirsty, his wisdom would come. After Seth's departure Shri Ganesha, pleased with Ballal's devotion, appeared before him in the guise of a Brahmin and asked him to free him from bondage and ask for a boon. On this Ballal requested him to be established in his area. Shri Ganesha fulfilled his wish and installed himself in a stone statue and then the Kalal Vinayak temple was built at that place. Also, near the Shiva temple, the statue thrown by the father of Balarama is present in the name of Dhundi Vinayak. Even today people worship Dhundi Vinayaka before visiting Ballaleshwar.

Temple Architecture

The idol of Ganapati is installed on a stone throne in this temple. The 3 feet high statue facing east is Swayambhu, and has the trunk of Shri Ganesha bent to the left. The eyes and navel of the idol are studded with diamonds. There are also idols of Riddhi Siddhi on either side of Shri Ganesha, who are waving a chanwar. It is said that the ancient temple of Ballaleshwar was made of wood. Later, the stone has been used at the time of its reconstruction. There are also two lakes near the temple. The water of one of them is offered to Lord Ganesha. It is said that if the temple is seen from a height, it looks like the Shri Akshar of Devanagari.
