मणिवाला सांप

गंगा के किनारे दो कुटिया थी, जिनमें दो सन्यासी रहते थे। दोनों ही सगे भाई थे। उसी नदी के पास एक इच्छाधारी सांप भी रहा करता था, जिसके पास एक मणि था और वह हमेशा तरह-तरह की वेशभूषा बदल कर घूमा करता था।

एक दिन वह नदी के किनारे टहल रहा था। तभी उसकी दृष्टि छोटे सन्यासी पर पड़ी, जो अपनी कुटिया में बैठा हुआ था। सांप प्रवृत्ति दुष्ट उसके पास पहुंचा और नमस्कार कर उससे बातचीत करना प्रारंभ किया। पहले ही दिन से दोनों एक दूसरे के अच्छे मित्र बन गए। फिर तो दोनों के मिलने मिलाने का सिलसिला बढ़ता गया और वह दोनों हर एक-दो दिनों में मिलने लगे और आते जाते एक दूसरे का आलिंगन भी करते थे।

एक दिन सांप प्रवृत्ति का दुष्ट अपनी खुद के असली रूप में प्रकट हुआ। उसने अपनी मणि भी उस सन्यासी को दिखाई। उसके असली रूप को देखकर सन्यासी के होश उड़ गए। डर से उसने अपनी भूख प्यास भी खो दी।

इससे उसकी अवस्था कुछ ही दिनों में एक चिर कालीन रोगी की तरह हो गई। बड़े सन्यासी ने जब उसकी रुग्णावस्था को देखा, तो उससे उसका कारण जानना चाहा। छोटे सन्यासी ने पिछले दिनों घटित सारी बातें उससे कह सुनाई। छोटे भाई के भय को जानकर उसने उसे सलाह दी कि उसे उस सांप जैसा दुष्ट व्यक्ति की मित्रता से छुटकारा पाना चाहिए और किसी भी व्यक्ति को दूर रखने का सर्वश्रेष्ठ उपाय है कि उससे उसकी कोई प्रियतम वस्तु मांगी जाए। अतः वह भी सांप का जैसा दुष्ट व्यक्ति को दूर रखने के लिए उससे उसकी मणि को मांगे।

दूसरे दिन जब इच्छाधारी छोटे सन्यासी की कुटिया में पहुंचा, तो सन्यासी ने उससे उसकी मणि मांगी। इसे सुन वह कुछ बहाना बनाकर वहां से तुरंत चला गया। इसके पश्चात भी संन्यासी की उससे दो बार मुलाकात हुई और उसने हर बार ही उससे उसकी मणि मांगी। तत्पश्चात इच्छाधारी उसे दूर से ही नमस्कार कर चला गया और फिर कभी भी उसके सामने लौट कर नहीं आया।

Gem snake

There were two huts on the banks of the Ganges, in which two sannyasis lived. Both were real brothers. There used to be a wishful snake near the same river, who had a gem and always roamed around in different costumes.

One day he was walking along the river. Then his eyes fell on the little monk, who was sitting in his hut. The snake instinct rogue reached him and saluted and started talking to him. From the very first day, the two became good friends of each other. Then the process of meeting the two continued to grow and both of them started to meet every one or two days and used to embrace each other as they came.

One day the rogue of the snake instinct appeared in its own true form. He also showed his gem to that monk. Seeing her true form, the sannyasin's senses flew away. Out of fear, he also lost his hunger and thirst.

Due to this, his condition became like a chronic patient in a few days. When the elder monk saw his sickness, he wanted to know his reason. The younger monk told him all the things that had happened in the past. Knowing the fear of the younger brother, he advised him that he should get rid of the friendliness of that snake-like evil person and the best way to keep any person away is to ask him for something he loved. Therefore, he should also ask for his gem in order to keep away the evil person like snake.

The next day, when the willful arrived in the small monk's hut, the monk asked for her gem. Hearing this, he made some excuse and left immediately. Even after this, the monk met him twice and asked for his gem every time. After that, the wishing went away from there and greeted him and never came back in front of him again.
