दो पोटली

एक बार भगवान ने जब इंसान की रचना की तो उसे दो पोटली दी। कहा एक पोटली को आगे की तरफ लटकाना और दूसरी को कंधे के पीछे पीठ पर। आदमी दोनों पोटलियां लेकर चल पड़ा।

हां, भगवान ने उसे ये भी कहा था कि आगे वाली पोटली पर नजर रखना पीछे वाली पर नहीं। समय बीतता गया। वह आदमी आगे वाली पोटली पर बराबर नजर रखता। आगे वाली पोटली में उसकी कमियां थीं और पीछे वाली में दुनिया की।

वे अपनी कमियां सुधारता गया और तरक्की करता गया। पीछे वाली पोटली को इसने नजरंदाज कर रखा था। एक दिन तालाब में नहाने के पश्चात, दोनों पोटलियां अदल बदल हो गई। आगे वाली पीछे और पीछे वाली आगे आ गई।

अब उसे दुनिया की कमियां ही कमियां नजर आने लगी। ये ठीक नहीं, वो ठीक नहीं। बच्चे ठीक नहीं, पड़ोसी बेकार है, सरकार निक्कमी है आदि-आदि। अब वह खुद के अलावा सब में कमियां ढूंढने लगा।

परिणाम ये हुआ कि कोई नहीं सुधरा, पर उसका पतन होने लगा। वह चक्कर में पड़ गया कि ये क्या हुआ है? वो वापस भगवान के पास गया। भगवान ने उसे समझाया कि जब तक तेरी नजर अपनी कमियों पर थी, तू तरक्की कर रहा था। जैसे ही तूने दूसरों में मीन-मेख निकालने शुरू कर दिए, वहीं से तेरा पतन शुरू हो गया।

शिक्षा:

हकीकत यही है कि हम किसी को नहीं सुधार सकते, हम अपने आपको सुधार लें इसी में हमारा कल्याण है। हम सुधरेंगे तो जग सुधरेगा। हम यही सोचते हैं कि सबको ठीक करके ही शांति प्राप्त होगी, जबकि खुद को ठीक नहीं करते।

सदैव प्रसन्न रहिये - जो प्राप्त है, पर्याप्त है |
जिसका मन मस्त है - उसके पास समस्त है ||

Once when God created man, he gave him two bundles. Said to hang one potli on the front and the other on the back behind the shoulder. The man walked away with both the bundles.

Yes, God also told him to keep an eye on the bundle in front and not on the one behind. Time passed by. That man would keep an eye on the bundle in front. The front bundle had his shortcomings and the back bundle contained the world's.

He kept correcting his shortcomings and progressed. It had ignored the back bundle. One day after taking bath in the pond, both the bundles got interchanged. The front came back and the back came forward.

Now he started seeing only the shortcomings of the world. This is not right, that is not right. The children are not well, the neighbor is useless, the government is useless, etc. Now he started finding faults in everyone except himself.

The result was that no one improved, but his downfall started. He got confused that what has happened? He went back to God. Moral:

The reality is that we cannot improve anyone, we should improve ourselves, this is our welfare. If we improve, the world will improve. We think that peace will be achieved only by correcting everyone, while we do not correct ourselves.
