हमारे देश में ऐसे लाखों प्राचीन मंदिर हैं, जिन की कहानी बेहद दिलचस्प है। किसी मंदिर की स्थापित मूर्ति चकित कर देती है, तो कहीं मंदिर की बनावट। आज एक ऐसे अनोखे मंदिर की चर्चा करेंगे, (वंशी नारायण मंदिर, उत्तराखंड) जिसका द्वार सिर्फ एक दिन के लिए रक्षाबंधन के दिन ही खुलता है और बाकी 364 दिन बंद रहता है।

वंशीनारायण मंदिर: उत्तराखंड का एक ऐसा मंदिर जो साल में केवल एक दिन खुलता है

हम जिस मंदिर के बारे में बता रहे हैं वह उत्तराखंड के चमोली जिले में स्थित है। इस मंदिर का नाम वंशी नारायण मंदिर है। पौराणिक मान्यताओं के अनुसार इस मंदिर का निर्माण पांडव काल में हुआ था। यूं तो यह मंदिर पूरे वर्ष बंद रहता है, लेकिन रक्षाबंधन के दिन अर्थात सावन की पूर्णिमा को अवश्य खुलता है। हालांकि इस दिन भी केवल सूरज ढलने के पूर्व ही पूजा अर्चना करने का नियम है। मान्यता है कि इस मंदिर में 364 दिन महर्षि नारद नारायण जी की पूजा अर्चना करते हैं और यहां पर मनुष्य को पूजा करने का अधिकार सिर्फ 1 दिन का ही है।

वर्ष में एक दिन होते हैं भगवान वंशीनारायण के साथ शिव के भी दर्शन

कत्यूरी शैली में बने दस फीट ऊंचे इस मंदिर का गर्भगृह वर्गाकार है। यहां भगवान विष्णु चतुर्भुज रूप में विद्यमान हैं। मंदिर में स्थापित प्रतिमा में भगवान विष्णु और भगवान भोलेनाथ के साथ दर्शन होते हैं।मनुष्य को इस मंदिर में 1 दिन पूजा करने का अधिकार देने के पीछे एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण कथा है। पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार एक बार राजा बलि ने भगवान विष्णु से आग्रह किया कि वह उनके द्वारपाल बने। भगवान विष्णु ने राजा बलि के इस आग्रह को स्वीकार कर लिया और वह राजा बलि के साथ पाताल लोक चले गए।

भगवान विष्णु के कई दिन तक दर्शन ना होने के कारण माता लक्ष्मी परेशान हो गयीं और वह नारद मुनि के पास गयीं। नारद मुनि के पास पहुंचकर माता लक्ष्मी ने पूछा कि भगवान विष्णु कहां है। इस पर नारद मुनि ने कहा कि वह पाताल लोक में गए हैं और द्वारपाल बने हुए हैं। इस पर माता लक्ष्मी अत्यंत परेशान हो गई और नारद मुनि से भगवान विष्णु के वापस आने का उपाय पूछीं। माता लक्ष्मी के भगवान विष्णु को वापस लाने के उपाय के बारे में नारद मुनि ने कहा कि - "हे मां लक्ष्मी आप सावन मास की पूर्णिमा को पताल लोक में जाएं और राजा बली की कलाई पर रक्षा सूत्र बांध दें और उपहार स्वरूप भगवान विष्णु की मुक्ति मांगें। इसके बाद राजा बलि से भगवान विष्णु को वापस मांग लें।"

सिर्फ रक्षाबंधन पर ही खुलते है इस मंदिर के द्वार

माता लक्ष्मी रक्षाबंधन के दिन राजा बलि के पास गई और राजा बलि को रक्षा सूत्र बांधकर भगवान विष्णु को मुक्त कराया। वंशी नारायण मंदिर के संबंध में मान्यता है कि पाताल लोक के बाद भगवान विष्णु सबसे पहले यही प्रकट हुए थे।

यह 8वीं शताब्दी में बना एकल संरचना मंदिर है, जो भगवान विष्णु को समर्पित है। उरगाम घाटी के अंतिम गाँव बांशा से 10 किमी आगे स्थित श्री वंशीनारायण मंदिर (Bansinarayan Temple) की यह यात्रा खड़ी चडाई वाली है। मंदिर तक पहुचने के लिए बांसा से दो पहाड़ की चोटियों को पार कर तीसरे पहाड़ की चोटी तक पहुँचना होता है। इस मार्ग में स्थान स्थान पर कुछ विशिष्ट प्रकार के पक्षियों का कलरव इस शांत वातावरण में सुमधुर संगीत सुनाता हुआ प्रतीत होता है। मंदिर के आसपास ना तो कोई मानव बस्तियाँ हैं और ना ही कोई मानव गतिविधयां। बंशा गांव से बंशी नारायण मंदिर के बीच ना तो कोई बस्ती है ना इंसान। बस नंदादेवी पर्वत श्रृंखला और उसके आसपास के घने जंगल अद्भुत दृश्य प्रस्तुत कर रहे होते हैं।

वंशीनारायण मंदिर तक पहुंचना आसान नहीं है

चमोली जिले के उच्च हिमालयी क्षेत्र में स्थित वंशीनारायण (Bansinarayan, Vanshinarayan) मंदिर तक पहुंचना आसान नहीं है। जिला मुख्यालय गोपेश्वर से उर्गम घाटी तक वाहन से पहुंचने के बाद आगे 12 किलोमीटर का सफर पैदल ही करना है। पांच किलोमीटर दूर तक फैले मखमली घास के मैदानों को पार करने के बाद सामने नजर आता है 1200 वर्ष प्राचीन वंशीनारायण मंदिर।

There are lakhs of such ancient temples in our country, whose story is very interesting. The established idol of a temple surprises, then the structure of the temple somewhere. One such unique temple is Vanshi Narayan Mandir, Uttarakhand, whose gate opens only on the day of Rakshabandhan and remains closed for the remaining 364 days.

Vanshinarayan Temple: One such temple of Uttarakhand which opens only one day in a year

The temple we are talking about is located in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. The name of this temple is Vanshi Narayan Mandir. According to mythological beliefs, this temple was built during the Pandava period. Although this temple remains closed throughout the year, but it definitely opens on the day of Rakshabandhan i.e. on the full moon of Sawan. However, on this day also, there is a rule to worship only before the sun sets. It is believed that Maharishi Narad Narayan ji is worshiped for 364 days in this temple and here man has the right to worship only for one day.

There are one day in the year, along with Lord Vanshinarayan, Shiva also has darshan.

The sanctum sanctorum of this temple, ten feet high, built in the Katyuri style, is square. Here Lord Vishnu is present in the form of a quadrilateral. There is a darshan with Lord Vishnu and Lord Bholenath in the idol installed in the temple. There is a very important story behind granting the human right to worship for 1 day in this temple. According to the legend, once King Bali requested Lord Vishnu to become his gatekeeper. Lord Vishnu accepted this request of King Bali and he went to Hades with King Bali.

Due to lack of darshan of Lord Vishnu for several days, Goddess Lakshmi got upset and went to Narada Muni. On reaching Narad Muni, Mata Lakshmi asked where is Lord Vishnu. On this Narada Muni said that he has gone to Hades and remains the gatekeeper. On this Mata Lakshmi became very upset and asked Narada Muni the way to return Lord Vishnu. Regarding the way to bring back Lord Vishnu of Mata Lakshmi, Narad Muni said that - "O Mother Lakshmi, you go to Patal Lok on the full moon of Sawan month and tie a protective thread on the wrist of King Bali and as a gift Lord Vishnu's salvation. Ask for it. Then ask King Bali to get Lord Vishnu back."

The gates of this temple open only on Rakshabandhan

Mata Lakshmi went to King Bali on the day of Rakshabandhan and freed Lord Vishnu by tying a protective thread to King Bali. In relation to the Vanshi Narayan temple, it is believed that Lord Vishnu first appeared after Patal Lok.

It is a single structure temple built in the 8th century, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This journey to the Shri Vansinarayan Temple, situated 10 km ahead of the last village of the Urgam valley, Bansha, is a steep climb. To reach the temple, one has to cross two mountain peaks from Bansa and reach the third mountain top. On this route, the tweet of some specific types of birds seems to be playing melodious music in this peaceful environment. There are neither any human settlements nor any human activities around the temple. There is neither any settlement nor human being between Bansha village to Banshi Narayan temple. Just the Nanda Devi mountain range and its surrounding dense forests offer amazing views.

Reaching Vanshinarayan Temple is not easy.

It is not easy to reach the Vanshinarayan Temple located in the high Himalayan region of Chamoli district. After reaching the district headquarters from Gopeshwar to Urgam Ghati by vehicle, the further 12 km journey has to be done on foot. After crossing the velvety meadows spread up to five kilometers away, 1200 years old Vanshinarayan temple is seen in front.
