 हथेली पर बाल क्यों नहीं उगते?

 एक दिन दरबार की कार्यवाही के मध्य बादशाह अकबर को मसकरी सूझी और उन्होंने बीरबल के मजे लेने के लिए सवाल पूछा, "बीरबल! यह तो बताओ कि हथेली पर बाल क्यों नहीं उगते?"

सवाल सुनकर बीरबल समझ गए कि आज बादशाह मजाक के मूड में है।

हाजिरजवाब बीरबल का फॉरन कोई जवाब ना आता देख अकबर बोले, "क्यों बीरबल! हर सवाल का जवाब तो तुम तुरंत दे देते हो आज क्या हुआ?"

"कुछ नहीं जहांपना! मैं बस यह सोच रहा हूं कि किसी हथेली पर?" बीरबल ने शांति से पूछा।

"हमारी हथेली पर बीरबल।" अकबर अपनी हथेली दिखाते हुए बोले।

"हुजूर आपकी हथेली पर बाल कैसे उगाए सकते हैं? आप दिनभर अपने हाथों से उपहार वितरित करते रहते हैं। लगातार संघर्ष के कारण आपकी हथेली में बाल उगना नामुमकिन है" बीरबल ने जवाब दिया।

"चलो मान लेते हैं। लेकिन तुम्हारी हथेली पर भी तो बाल नहीं है। ऐसा क्यों?" अकबर आसानी से कहां मानने वाले थे। उन्होंने तुरंत दूसरा सवाल कर दिया।

यह सुनकर दरबारियों के भी कान खड़े हो गए। उन्हें लगा कि बीरबल इसका जवाब नहीं दे पाएंगे।

लेकिन बीरबल का जवाब तैयार था, "हुजूर में हमेशा आपसे ईनाम लेता हूं इसलिए मेरी हथेली पर भी बाल नहीं है।"

अकबर इस जवाब से प्रभावित तो हुए लेकिन उनका मन किसी भी तरह बीरबल को निरुत्तर करने का था इसलिए उन्होंने तीसरा सवाल दागा, "चलो यह तो हुई तुम्हारी और हमारी बात, लेकिन इन दरबारियों का क्या? यह तो हमसे हमेशा इनाम नहीं लेते। ऐसे में उनकी हथेलियों पर बाल क्यों नहीं है?"

इस सवाल पर दरबारियों को लगा कि अब बीरबल फस गया।

लेकिन बीरबल यूं ही अपनी वाकपटुता के लिए प्रसिद्ध नहीं था। वह झट से बोले, "जहांपना! आप ईनाम देते रहते हैं और मैं ही ईनाम लेता रहता हूं। यह देखकर सभी दरबारी जलन में हाथ मलते रहते हैं इसलिए इनके हथेली पर बाल नहीं है।

यह सुनकर अकबर ठहाका लगा उठे। उधर दरबारियों के सिर शर्म से झुक गए।

Why hair does not grow on the palm?

One day, in the midst of the court proceedings, Emperor Akbar thought of Muskari and asked the question to enjoy Birbal, "Birbal! Tell me why the hair does not grow on the palm?"

 Hearing the question, Birbal understood that today the emperor is in a joking mood.

 Seeing no response from Birbal immediately, Akbar said, "Why Birbal, you immediately answer every question, what happened today?"

 "Nothing where! I am just thinking that on a palm?"  Birbal asked calmly.

 "Birbal on our palm."  Akbar said while showing his palm.

 "How can Hujur grow hair on your palm? You keep distributing gifts with your hands throughout the day. It is impossible to grow hair in your palm due to constant struggle" Birbal replied.

 "Let's agree. But there is no hair on your palm. Why?"  Where was Akbar easily believed.  He immediately asked another question.

 Hearing this, the courtiers also got their ears up.  He felt that Birbal would not be able to answer this.

 But Birbal's answer was ready, "I always take a prize from you in Huzur, so there is no hair on my palm."

 Akbar was impressed by this answer but his mind was somehow to make Birbal discouraged, so he posed the third question, "Come on, this is your and our talk, but what about these courtiers? They don't always reward us.  Why don't I have hair on his palms? "

 On this question, the courtiers felt that Birbal was trapped.

 But Birbal was not only famous for his eloquence.  He quickly said, "Jahanna! You keep giving prizes and I keep giving prizes. Seeing this, all the courtiers rub their hands in jealousy so there is no hair on their palm."

 Hearing this, Akbar laughed.  On the other hand, the heads of the court bowed down in shame.
