कुएं का पानी की कहानी 

              एक किसान बहुत परेशान था। उसे अपने खेतों को सींचने के लिए पानी की जरूरत थी। इसलिए, वह कई दिनों से अपनी जमीन के आसपास किसी कुएं की तलाश कर रहा था। इसी तलाश में वह घूम ही रहा था कि अचानक उसे एक कुआं दिखा। यह कुआं उसके खेतों से बहुत नजदीक था। इसलिए, किसान बहुत खुश हुआ। उसने सोचा कि अब उसकी परेशानी खत्म हो गई। यह सोचकर वह खुशी-खुशी घर चला गया।

              अगले दिन वह पानी लेने कुएं पर पहुंचा। जैसे ही उसने कुएं के नजदीक रखी बाल्टी कुएं में डाली, वहां एक आदमी आ धमका। वह किसान से बोला, यह कुआं मेरा है। तुम इससे पानी नहीं ले सकते। अगर तुम इस कुएं से पानी लेना चाहते हो, तो तुम्हें इस कुएं को खरीदना होगा।

           यह बात सुनकर किसान कुछ देर रुका और फिर मन ही मन सोचने लगा कि अगर मैं इस कुएं को खरीद लूं, तो मुझे कभी पानी की कमी नहीं होगी और न ही मुझे पानी के लिए इधर-उधर भटकना पड़ेगा। फिर क्या था, दोनों के बीच एक रकम तय हुई। किसान के पास उतने पैसे तो थे नहीं, लेकिन वह यह मौका छोड़ना नहीं चाहता था। इसलिए, किसान ने उस आदमी को अगले दिन वह रकम देने का वादा किया और घर की ओर चल दिया।

           किसान के लिए कुआं खरीदने का यह अच्छा मौका था। इसलिए, वह इस काम में जरा भी देर नहीं करना चाहता था। घर पहुंचते ही उसने अपने करीबियों और दोस्तों से इस बारे में बात की और कुएं के लिए तय हुई रकम का इंतजाम करने में जुट गया। थोड़ी भागदौड़ और कोशिश के बाद आखिरकार उसने वह रकम जमा कर ली। अब वह पूरी तरह से निश्चिंत हो चुका था कि उसे कुआं खरीदने से कोई नहीं रोक सकता।जमा हुए पैसों को लेकर वह फिर घर चल दिया। उसे बड़ी बेसब्री से इंतजार था कि कब रात खत्म होगी और वह कुआं खरीदने जाएगा। इसी सोच में वह पूरी रात सो नहीं सका। अगले दिन सुबह होते ही वह कुआं खरीदने निकल पड़ा।

            उस आदमी के घर पहुंच किसान ने उसके हाथ पर पैसे रखे और कुएं को खरीद लिया। अब तो कुआं किसान का हो गया था तो फिर उसने पानी निकालने में देर नहीं की। जैसे ही किसान ने कुएं से पानी निकालने के लिए बाल्टी उठाई, उस आदमी ने फिर बोला ठहरो, तुम इस कुएं से पानी नहीं निकाल सकते हो। मैंने तुम्हें कुआं बेचा है, कुएं का पानी अभी भी मेरा है। किसान मायूस हो गया और न्याय के लिए राजा के दरबार में शिकायत करने पहुंच गया।
             मालूम है उस राजा का नाम क्या था? राजा अकबर। राजा अकबर ने उस किसान की पूरी कहानी सुनी और फिर उस आदमी को दरबार में बुलाया, जिसने वह कुआं बेचा था। राजा का फरमान सुनते ही वह आदमी भागा-भागा दरबार में हाजिर हो गया। राजा ने उससे पूछा, जब तुमने इस किसान को अपना कुआं बेच दिया, तो फिर इसे पानी क्यों नहीं लेने दे रहे हो।

             आदमी बोला, महाराज मैंने इसे केवल कुआं बेचा था, पानी नहीं। यह बात सुनकर राजा भी सोच में पड़ गए। उन्होंने कहा कि बात तो यह पते की कह रहा है, कुआं बेचा है, पानी तो नहीं। काफी देर सोचने के बाद जब इस समस्या को सुलझाने में वह नाकाम हो गए, तो उन्होंने बीरबल को बुलाया।

            बीरबल बहुत ही बुद्धिमान था। इसलिए, राजा अकबर किसी भी मामले पर फैसला लेने से पहले उसकी राय जरूर लेते थे। बीरबल ने एक बार फिर दोनों से उनकी समस्या पूछी। पूरी बात जानने के बाद बीरबल ने उस आदमी से कहा ठीक है, तुमने कुआं बेचा पानी नहीं। फिर तुम्हारा पानी किसान के कुएं में क्या कर रहा है? कुआं तुम्हारा नहीं है, फौरन अपने पानी को कुएं से बाहर निकालो। बीरबल का इतना कहते ही, उस आदमी को समझ आ गया कि अब उसकी चालाकी किसी काम नहीं आने वाली। उसने राजा से फौरन माफी मांगी और माना कि कुएं के साथ उसके पानी पर भी किसान का पूरा अधिकार है।

       यह देखकर राजा अकबर ने बीरबल की बुद्धिमानी की तारीफ की और कुआं बेचने वाले आदमी पर धोखेबाजी के लिए जुर्माना लगाया।

Moral/शिक्षा:- 

किसी को भी अपने आपको दूसरे से अधिक चालाक नहीं समझना चाहिए। साथ ही धोखा देने की आदत से भी दूर रहना चाहिए।

English Translate

Story of well water

               One farmer was very upset.  He needed water to irrigate his fields.  Therefore, he had been searching for a well around his land for several days.  He was roaming around in search of this, suddenly he saw a well.  This well was very close to his fields.  Therefore, the farmer was very happy.  He thought that now his troubles were over.  Thinking that he went home happily.

               The next day he reached the well to get water.  As soon as he poured the bucket near the well into the well, a man came there.  He said to the farmer, this well is mine.  You cannot take water from it.  If you want to take water from this well, then you have to buy this well.

            Hearing this, the farmer stopped for some time and then started thinking that if I buy this well, I will never be short of water nor do I have to wander around for water.  What was there then, a sum was fixed between the two.  The farmer did not have that much money, but he did not want to miss this opportunity.  Therefore, the farmer promised the man the next day he would give the money and walked towards the house.

            This was a good opportunity for the farmer to buy a well.  Therefore, he did not want to delay this task at all.  As soon as he reached home, he talked to his close friends and friends about this and started arranging the amount fixed for the well.  After a bit of running and trying, he finally collected that amount.  Now he was completely sure that no one could stop him from buying a well. He again went home with the accumulated money.  He waited impatiently when the night would end and he would go to buy the well.  In the same thinking, he could not sleep the whole night.  The next day, as soon as dawn, he went out to buy a well.

             The farmer reaching the man's house placed the money on his hand and bought the well.  Now the well had become the farmer, so he did not delay in extracting water.  As soon as the farmer lifted the bucket to draw water from the well, the man said again, you cannot remove water from this well.  I have sold you a well, the water of the well is still mine.  The farmer became disheartened and came to the king's court to complain for justice.

              Do you know what the name of that king was?  King Akbar.  King Akbar heard the whole story of that farmer and then called the man in the court, who had sold the well.  On hearing the king's decree, the man ran away to the court.  The king asked him, when you sold your well to this farmer, then why are you not letting it take water.

              The man said, Maharaj, I had sold only a well, no water.  Hearing this, the king too got confused.  He said that this thing is saying about the address, well is sold, no water.  After thinking long enough when he failed to solve the problem, he called Birbal.

             Birbal was very intelligent.  Therefore, King Akbar used to take his opinion before deciding on any matter.  Birbal once again asked both of them their problems.  After knowing the whole thing, Birbal said to the man, OK, you sold a well, not water.  Then what is your water doing in the farmer's well?  The well is not yours, immediately take your water out of the well.  As soon as Birbal had said this, the man understood that his cunning would no longer be of any use.  He immediately apologized to the king and believed that along with the well, the farmer had full rights over his water too.

        Seeing this, King Akbar praised the wisdom of Birbal and fined him for cheating on the man selling the well.

 Moral / Education: -

 No one should consider themselves smarter than others.  Also, you should stay away from the habit of cheating.
