भिखारी और ईश्वर में आस्था

एक राजा था, वह जब पूजा के लिए मंदिर जाता, तो दो भिखारी उसके दाएं और बाएं बैठा करते। दाईं ओर वाला कहता- हे भगवान! तूने राजा को बहुत कुछ दिया है, मुझे भी दे दे। बाईं ओर वाला कहता- ऐ राजा! भगवान ने तुझे बहुत कुछ दिया है, मुझे भी कुछ दे दे।

दाईं ओर वाला भिखारी बाईं ओर वाले से कहता- भगवान से माँग! निसंदेह वही सबसे अच्छा सुनने वाला है। बाईं ओर वाला जवाब देता- चुप कर मूर्ख।

एक बार राजा ने अपने मंत्री को बुलाया और कहा कि मंदिर में दाईं तरफ जो भिखारी बैठता है, वह हमेशा भगवान से मांगता है। तो निसंदेह भगवान उसकी जरूर सुनेगा। लेकिन जो बाईं तरफ बैठता है, वह हमेशा मुझसे विनती करता रहता है। तो तुम ऐसा करो कि एक बड़े से बर्तन में खीर भर के उसमें अशर्फियाँ डाल दो और वह उसको दे आओ।

मंत्री ने ऐसा ही किया। अब वह भिखारी मजे से खीर खाते-खाते दूसरे भिखारी को चिढ़ाता हुआ बोला-  हुह ! बड़ा आया, भगवान देगा। यह देख राजा से माँगा, तो मिल गया ना? खाने के बाद जब उसका पेट भर गया, तो उसने खीर से भरा बर्तन उस दूसरे भिखारी को दे दिया। और कहा- ले पकड़ ! तू भी खा ले, मूर्ख!

अगले दिन जब राजा पूजा के लिए मंदिर आया तो देखा कि बाईं तरफ वाला भिखारी तो आज भी वैसे ही बैठा है। लेकिन दाईं तरफ वाला ग़ायब है। राजा ने चौंक कर उससे पूछा- क्या तुझे खीर से भरा बर्तन नहीं मिला?

भिखारी- जी मिला था, क्या शानदार खीर थी। मैंने ख़ूब पेट भर कर खायी! राजा- फिर?

भिखारी- फ़िर वह जो दूसरा भिखारी यहाँ बैठता है, मैंने उसको दे दी। मूर्ख हमेशा कहता रहता था- भगवान देगा, भगवान देगा! राजा मुस्कुराकर बोला- बेशक, भगवान ने उसे दे ही दिया।

इसी तरह हमें भी उस भगवान से ही विनती करनी चाहिए। वही हमें देने वाला है, दुनिया के जीव तो एक जरिया हैं। बाकी उसकी मर्जी से ही मिलता है। इसलिए उस मालिक को हमेशा याद रखो। हर रोज भजन बंदगी सिमरन करो, तब जाकर हमारा परमार्थ और स्वार्थ दोनों बन पाएंगे।

English Translate

God will surely give

There was a king, whenever he went to the temple for worship, two beggars would sit on his right and left. The one on the right says- Oh God! You have given a lot to the king, give it to me also. The one on the left says- Oh King! God has given you a lot, give me something too.

The beggar on the right says to the one on the left – Ask from God! Undoubtedly he is the best listener. The one on the left would reply – Shut up, idiot.

Once the king called his minister and said that the beggar who sits on the right side in the temple always begs from God. So undoubtedly God will definitely listen to him. But the one sitting on the left always keeps pleading with me. So you do this by filling a big vessel with kheer, add ashrafis in it and give it to him.

The minister did the same. Now that beggar, while eating kheer with pleasure, teased the other beggar and said - Huh! The big one has come, God will provide. Seeing this, he asked the king and he got it, right? After eating, when his stomach was full, he gave the pot full of kheer to the other beggar. And said- take hold! You eat it too, fool!

The next day when the king came to the temple for worship, he saw that the beggar on the left was still sitting the same way. But the one on the right is missing. The king was shocked and asked him - Didn't you find a vessel full of kheer?

Beggar- Yes, I got it, what a wonderful kheer it was. I ate to my heart's content! King- Then?

Beggar- Then the other beggar who sits here, I gave it to him. The fool always used to say – God will provide, God will provide! The king smiled and said – Of course, God gave it to him.

Similarly, we should also pray to that God. He is the one who gives us, the living beings of the world are just a means. The rest comes as per his wish. So always remember that boss. Practice bhajan worship every day, only then we will be able to achieve both altruism and selfishness.

कहेहु तात अस मोर प्रनामा।
सब प्रकार प्रभु पूरनकामा।।
दीन दयाल बिरिदु संभारी।
हरहु नाथ सम संकट भारी।।
