कुदरत की बनाई इस दुनिया में कई अजीबोगरीब जीव मौजूद है, जिनके बारे में शायद ही हम इंसानों को पता है। आज एक ऐसे जीव की चर्चा करेंगे, जिसके पास 1306 पैर हैं और यह जमीन के अंदर बेहद गहराई में रहता है। धरती पर तमाम तरह के जीव– जन्तु पाए जाते हैं, जो हजारों सालों से धरती पर अपना जीवन यापन कर रहे हैं। वहीं वैज्ञानिक लगातार खोजों में लगे रहते हैं और जीव– जन्तुओं की नई नई प्रजातियों के बारे में पता लगाते रहते हैं। वैज्ञानिकों ने एक ऐसा जीव ढूंढ निकाला है, जो दुनिया का सबसे ज्यादा पैरों वाला जीव है। यह अद्भुत जीव दुनिया का पहला ऐसा पिलिपीड्स है, जो अपने हजारों पैरों के साथ चलता हैं। सबसे पहले 40 करोड़ साल पहले मिलिपीड्स पाया गया था, लेकिन हजारों पैर वाला मिलिपीड्स नहीं देखा गया था। 

इस जीव को ऑस्ट्रेलिया की खनिज संपदा से भरे इलाके में देखा था। जहां पर लगातार खनन का काम होता है। खनन के दौरान ही दो फीमेल और दो मेल मिलिपीड्स मिले थे, जिसमें फिमेल मिलिपीड्स में 1306 पैर और मेल मिलिपीड्स में 998 पैर हैं। वैज्ञानिकों का कहना है कि इसके पैर को गिनना आसान नहीं था, क्योंकि यह जीव अपने आप को गोलाकर चक्करघिन्नी की तरह लपेट लेता है। वैज्ञानिकों ने इस जीव पर माइक्रोस्कोप की मदद से रिसर्च किया और इनकी तस्वीर दिखाई है

वैज्ञानिकों के अनुसार, पहले जिसे सबसे ज्यादा पैरों वाला जीव माना जाता था-  “इलाक्मे प्लेनिप्स” उसके 750 पैर गिने गए थे, लेकिन अब जो जीव मिला है उसके 1306 पैर गिने गए हैं। 1306 पैरों वाली मिलिपीड्स की प्रजाति का नाम यूमिलिप्स पर्सेफोन हैं ये सतह से 200 फीट नीचे रहते हैं। 

वैज्ञानिकों का कहना है कि इनकी उम्र 5-10 साल तक हो सकती है। यूमिलिप्स पर्सेफोन का रंग हल्का पीला होता है। हैरान करने वाली बात ये है की धागा नुमा संरचना वाले इस जीव की आंखे नहीं होती हैं। ये अपनी चौड़ाई से 100 गुना ज्यादा लम्बे होते हैं। लंबे धागे जैसे दिखने वाले इस जीव का सिर आइसक्रीम कोन की तरह है जिस पर बहुत सारे एंटीना हैं, जो इन्हें अंधेरे में चलने में मदद करते हैं। यह यह फंगस खाता है।

Scientists say that their age can be up to 5-10 years. The color of Eumilips Persephone is pale yellow. The surprising thing is that this creature with a thread-like structure does not have eyes. They are 100 times longer than their width. This long thread-like creature has a head like an ice cream cone with many antennae on it, which help them to walk in the dark. It eats this fungus.
