प्रतिवर्ष 30 मार्च को राजस्थान दिवस अथवा राजस्थान स्थापना दिवस मनाया जाता है। इस वर्ष आज के दिन राजस्थान का 74 वा स्थापना दिवस मनाया जा रहा है। 30 मार्च, 1949 में जोधपुर, जयपुर, जैसलमेर और बीकानेर रियासतों का विलय होकर 'वृहत्तर राजस्थान सङ्घ' बना था।

इस दिन राजस्थान के लोगों की वीरता, दृढ़ इच्छाशक्ति तथा बलिदान को नमन किया जाता है। यहाँ की लोक कलाएँ, समृद्ध संस्कृति, महल, व्यञ्जन आदि एक विशिष्ट पहचान रखते हैं। इस

दिन कई उत्सव और आयोजन होते हैं जिनमें राजस्थान की अनूठी संस्कृति का दर्शन होता है। 

राजस्थान दो शब्दों 'राज' और 'स्थान' से बना है, जिसका अर्थ है 'स्थानों का राजा.' राजस्थान गुजरात, मध्य प्रदेश, उत्तर प्रदेश, हरियाणा और पंजाब से घिरा हुआ है। क्षेत्रफल के लिहाज से राजस्थान भारत का सबसे बड़ा राज्य है। उदयपुर, नागौर, माउंट आबू, कोटा, जोधपुर, झालावाड़, जैसलमेर, जयपुर, बीकानेर और अजमैर जैसे स्थान लोकप्रिय मंदिरों, दरगाहों के कारण पर्यटन के लिहाज से काफी अहमियत रखते हैं।

राज्य में स्थित थार रेगिस्तान को ग्रेट इंडियन डेजर्ट के तौर पर भी जाना जाता है। राज्य रेत के टीलों और रेगिस्तानों की भूमि है। राजस्थान की राजधानी जयपुर है, जो राज्य का सबसे बड़ा शहर भी है। यह खूबसूरत राज्य भव्य महलों, किलों, रंगों और उत्सवों के लिए प्रसिद्ध है। 

राजस्थान राज्य आज भी अपनी प्राचीन संस्कृति, स्वादिष्ट व्यंजनों, सुंदर नृत्यों और संगीत से जीवंत है. यही वजह है कि यह राज्य सिर्फ देश ही नहीं, बल्कि विदेशी पर्यटकों को भी आकर्षित करता है। राजस्थान के लगभग सभी प्रमुख शहरों का संबंध किसी न किसी विशिष्ट रंग से संबंधित है। जैसे जयपुर का गुलाबी रंग, उदयपुर का सफेद, जोधपुर का नीला रंग और झालावाड़ का बैंगनी रंग।

राजस्थान दिवस मनाने का उद्देश्य

राजस्थान शौर्य व साहस का दूसरा नाम है। यहां की धरती रणबांकुरों और वीरांगनाओं की धरती है। राजस्थान दिवस मनाने का मुख्य उद्देश्य लोगों को राजस्थान की विरासत के बारे में जागरूक करना तथा इसके महत्व को बताना है साथ ही इसकी विरासत को बचाना है। देश की आजादी के बाद राजस्थान के बाशिंदों के लिए सही मायनों में आजादी आज ही के दिन मतलब 30 मार्च को सन 1949 में मिली थी।

Rajasthan Day or Rajasthan Foundation Day is celebrated every year on 30 March. This year, on this day, the 74th Foundation Day of Rajasthan is being celebrated. On March 30, 1949, the princely states of Jodhpur, Jaipur, Jaisalmer and Bikaner were merged to form the 'Greater Rajasthan Union'.

Rajasthan is the largest state of India in terms of area. Places like Udaipur, Nagaur, Mount Abu, Kota, Jodhpur, Jhalawar, Jaisalmer, Jaipur, Bikaner and Ajmer are of great importance from the point of view of tourism due to popular temples, dargahs.

The Thar Desert located in the state is also known as the Great Indian Desert. The state is a land of sand dunes and deserts. The capital of Rajasthan is Jaipur, which is also the largest city of the state. This beautiful state is famous for grand palaces, forts, colors and festivals.

The state of Rajasthan is still alive with its ancient culture, delicious cuisine, beautiful dances and music. This is the reason that this state attracts not only the country but also foreign tourists. Almost all the major cities of Rajasthan are related to one or the other specific colour. Like pink color of Jaipur, white color of Udaipur, blue color of Jodhpur and purple color of Jhalawar.

Purpose of celebrating Rajasthan Day

Rajasthan is another name for bravery and courage. The land here is the land of warriors and heroines. The main purpose of celebrating Rajasthan Day is to make people aware about the heritage of Rajasthan and to tell its importance as well as to save its heritage. After the independence of the country, the people of Rajasthan got freedom in true sense on this day i.e. on March 30, 1949.
