ब्रह्मा मंदिर एक भारतीय हिंदू मंदिर है जो भारत के राजस्थान राज्य के अजमेर जिले में पवित्र स्थल पुष्कर में स्थित है। इस मंदिर में जगतपिता ब्रह्मा जी की मूर्ति स्थापित है। ब्रह्म मंदिर का निर्माण लगभग 14 वीं शताब्दी में हुआ था जो कि लगभग 700 वर्ष पुराना है। यह मंदिर मुख्य रूप से संगमरमर के पत्थरों से निर्मित है।

हिंदू धर्म में बहुत से देवी-देवताओं के प्रसिद्ध तीर्थ स्थल और मंदिर है। वैसे तो हिंदू धर्म में प्रमुख तीन देवता ब्रह्मा, विष्णु और महेश को माना जाता है। ब्रह्मा जी इस संसार के रचनाकार है तो विष्णु जी पालनकर्ता और महेश संहारक हैं। हमारे देश में जहां विष्णु और महेश के अनेक मंदिर हैं, वहीं पूरे भारतवर्ष में ब्रह्मा जी का सिर्फ एक ही मंदिर है, जो राजस्थान के पुष्कर जिले में है।आखिर यह बात हर किसी को सोचने पर मजबूर कर देती है कि क्या वजह है जो पूरे भारतवर्ष में ब्रह्मा जी का सिर्फ एक ही मंदिर है। आइए जानते हैं कि हमारे पुराण में इसकी क्या वजह बताई गई है-

हिंदू धर्म ग्रंथ पद्म पुराण के अनुसार एक समय धरती पर वज्रनाश नामक राक्षस ने धरती पर उत्पात मचा रखा था।उसके बढ़ते अत्याचारों से तंग आकर ब्रह्मा जी ने उसका वध कर दिया लेकिन वध करते समय उनके हाथ से तीन कमल के फूल धरती पर गिर पड़े, और तीनों जगह पर 3 झीलें बनीं, और इस जगह का नाम पुष्कर कहलाया। इस घटना के बाद ब्रह्मा जी ने संसार की भलाई के लिए एक यज्ञ का आयोजन किया। ब्रह्मा जी यज्ञ करने के लिए पुष्कर पहुंचे, लेकिन किसी कारणवश सावित्री (सरस्वती) वहां समय पर नहीं पहुंच पाईं। यज्ञ को पूर्ण करने के लिए उनके साथ उनकी पत्नी का होना आवश्यक था।

परंतु सावित्री जी के वहां नहीं पहुंचने की वजह से ब्रह्मा जी ने वहां उपस्थित एक गुर्जर समुदाय की कन्या गायत्री से विवाह कर इस यज्ञ को शुरू कर दिया। जब सावित्री वहां पहुंची और ब्रह्मा जी के बगल में दूसरी कन्या को देखीं तू भी क्रोध में आ गई और क्रोधित होकर होने ब्रह्मा जी को श्राप दे दिया कि देवता होने के बावजूद भी उनकी पूजा कभी नहीं की जाएगी।भगवान विष्णु ने भी इस काम में ब्रह्मा जी की मदद की थी इसलिए सरस्वती मां ने भगवान विष्णु को भी श्राप दिया

 कि उन्हें भी पत्नी का वियोग सहन करना पड़ेगा।

इसी कारण भगवान विष्णु के मानव अवतार श्री राम के रूप में 14 साल के वनवास के बाद अपनी पत्नी से अलग रहना पड़ा था।

मां सरस्वती को क्रोधित देख सभी देवता उनसे अपना श्राप वापस लेने की विनती करने लगे। लेकिन दिया हुआ श्राप वापिस नहीं होता, इसलिए सरस्वती मां ने कहा कि इस धरती पर सिर्फ पुष्कर में आपकी पूजा होगी। कोई भी दूसरा आपका मंदिर बनाएगा तो उसका विनाश हो जाएगा। तभी से पूरे भारतवर्ष में ब्रह्मा जी का पुष्कर के अलावा और कहीं मंदिर नहीं है।

ब्रह्मा जी के मंदिर का निर्माण कब और किसने करवाया, इसका कहीं भी उल्लेख नहीं मिलता है। लेकिन कहा जाता है कि करीब 12 वर्ष पहले अरण्य वंश के एक शासक को सपना आया था कि, इस जगह पर एक मंदिर है जिसे सही रखरखाव की जरूरत है। तब राजा ने इस मंदिर के पुराने ढांचे को फिर से जीवंत करवाया। मंदिर के पीछे एक पहाड़ी पर देवी सावित्री का भी एक मंदिर है, जहां पहुंचने के लिए सैकड़ों सीढ़ियों को पार करना पड़ता है।

पुराणों के अनुसार ब्रह्मा जी ने पुष्कर में कार्तिक पूर्णिमा के दिन यज्ञ किया था। इसलिए हर साल कार्तिक पूर्णिमा के अवसर पर यहां मेला लगता है। मेला के दौरान यहां हजारों की संख्या में भक्तों की भीड़ लगती है।

According to the Hindu scripture Padma Purana, at one time a demon named Vajranash created a ruckus on the earth. Being fed up with his increasing atrocities, Brahma ji killed him, but while killing, three lotus flowers fell from his hands on the earth. , and three lakes were formed at all three places, and the name of this place was called Pushkar. After this incident, Brahma ji organized a yagya for the betterment of the world. Brahma ji reached Pushkar to perform the Yagya, but due to some reason Savitri (Saraswati) could not reach there on time. To complete the Yagya, it was necessary to have his wife with him.

But due to Savitri not reaching there, Brahma ji started this yagya by marrying Gayatri, a girl from a Gurjar community present there. When Savitri reached there and saw another girl next to Brahma ji, you also got angry and being angry cursed Brahma ji that despite being a deity, she would never be worshipped. Lord Vishnu also did this work. She had helped Brahma ji, so Saraswati Maa also cursed Lord Vishnu.

 That he too will have to bear the separation of his wife.

For this reason, Lord Vishnu had to live separately from his wife after 14 years of exile in the form of Shri Ram, a human incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

Seeing Maa Saraswati angry, all the gods started requesting her to take back their curse. But the curse given does not return, so Saraswati Maa said that you will be worshiped on this earth only in Pushkar. If anyone else builds your temple, it will be destroyed. Since then there is no other temple of Brahma ji in the whole of India except Pushkar.

There is no mention of when and by whom the temple of Brahma ji was built. But it is said that about 12 years ago, a ruler of the Aranya dynasty had a dream that there is a temple at this place which needs proper maintenance. Then the king rejuvenated the old structure of this temple. There is also a temple of Goddess Savitri on a hill behind the temple, where one has to cross hundreds of steps to reach.

According to the Puranas, Brahma ji performed a yajna in Pushkar on the day of Kartik Purnima. That's why a fair is held here every year on the occasion of Kartik Purnima. Thousands of devotees throng here during the fair.
