आधुनिक समाज (Modern Society)

यह बहुत ही सही कहा गया हैं कि "आधुनिकीकरण पुरानी प्रक्रिया के लिए चालू शब्द है। यह सामाजिक परिवर्तन की वह प्रक्रिया हैं, जिससे कम विकसित समाज विकसित समाजों की सामान्य विशेषेताओं को प्राप्त करते हैं।"

कुछ महत्वपूर्ण कथनों के आधार पर यह एक क्रांतिकारी परिवर्तन है, जिससे परंपरागत समाज या किसी भी स्थान को उन्नत और आर्थिक रूप से अच्छा बनाना और यह राजनैतिक रूप से स्थिर सामाजिक परिवर्तन की ओर ले जाता है। इस परिवर्तन के बाद पुराने और नये समाज में स्पष्ट अंतर देखा जा सकता है। यह एक अत्यंत जटिल प्रक्रिया होती है, जो कृत्रिम और प्राकृतिक दोनों प्रकार के होते है।

आधुनिकीकरण की परिभाषा

श्यामचरण दुबे के अनुसार – 

"आधुनिकीकरण एक ऐसी प्रक्रिया हैं। जिसके द्वारा पहले से चली आ रही व्यवस्था को तकनीकी के माध्यम से उसमें परिवर्तन लाया जाता हैं।"

मूरे के अनुसार – 

"आधुनिकीकरण एक क्रांतिकारी परिवर्तन हैं, जो परंपरागत समाज को उन्नत और आर्थिक रूप से ज्यादा अच्छा करने एवं राजनेतिक रूप से स्थिर सामाजिक परिवर्तन की ओर ले जाता हैं।"

अलातास के अनुसार–

"आधुनिकीकरण एक ऐसी प्रक्रिया है, जिसके आधुनिक वैज्ञानिक ज्ञान का समाज मे प्रचार एवं प्रसार होता है। जिससे समाज मे व्यक्तियों के स्तर मे सुधार होता है और समाज अच्छाई की तरफ बढ़ता है।"

डेनियल लर्नर के अनुसार– 

"आधुनिकीकरण परिवर्तन की एक प्रक्रिया है जिसका संबंध मुख्य रूप से विचारों एवं मनोवृत्तियों के तरीको मे बदलाव, नगरीकरण मे वृध्दि, साक्षारता का बढ़ना, प्रति व्यक्ति आय का अधिक होना तथा राजनीतिक सहभागिता मे वृध्दि जैसे परिवर्तन से होता है।"

सी.ई.ब्लैक के अनुसार– 

"आधुनिकीकरण वह प्रक्रिया है जिससे ऐतिहासिक रूप से उत्पन्न संस्थाएँ तेजी से बदलती हुई नई जिम्मेदारियों के साथ अनुकूलित होती हैं जिसमें वैज्ञानिक प्रगति से जुड़ी अपने परिवेश पर नियंत्रण की क्षमता वाले मनुष्य के ज्ञान मे अभूतपूर्व वृद्धि परिलक्षित होती हैं।"

आधुनिकीकरण और शिक्षा 

आधुनिकीकरण वर्तमान शिक्षा में हो रहे बदलावों की ही देन हैं। आधुनिकीकरण और शिक्षा में बहुत गहरा संबंध होता हैं। यह छात्रों में वैज्ञानिक दृष्टिकोण का विकास करता हैं। सामाजिक आवश्यकताओं के अध्ययन करने में सहायक एवं अंधविश्वास से समाज को दूर रखने में भी यह सहायता प्रदान करता हैं।

आधुनिकीकरण लोकतांत्रिक मूल्यों का विकास करता हैं एवं वैज्ञानिक विषयों के अध्ययन पर बल देने का कार्य करता हैं। यह शिक्षा को वास्तविक शिक्षा के उद्देश्यों से परिलक्षित करवाने का कार्य भी करता हैं। अनुभव आधारित पाठ्यक्रम पर बल देना, सह-पाठ्यक्रम गतिविधियों को शिक्षा में शामिल करना आदि।

आधुनिकीकरण का प्रभाव 

इसका व्यापक प्रभाव बहुत से क्षेत्रों में देखा जा सकता है। जैसे कि 

• कृषि और ग्रामीण उद्योगों में उन्नति 
• बेरोजगारी में वृद्धि 
• बाह्य संपर्क 
• औपचारिकता में वृद्धि 
• स्त्रियों की स्थिति में परिवर्तन 
• पश्चिमीकरण 
• नगरीकरण 
• वैवाहिक संस्थाओं में परिवर्तन 
• धार्मिक पुनरुत्थान एवं सुधार 
• विश्वव्यापी वैधानिक व्यवस्था 
• सामाजिक संस्थानों में परिवर्तन आदि

आधुनिकीकरण की हानियाँ /नुकसान

इस आधुनिकीकरण प्रक्रिया में कई अच्छी चीजे बदल जाती है। कई बार ऐसे बदलाव आते है, जो समाज पर खतरा लेकर आते है। एक सीमा से अधिक आधुनिकीकरण प्रकृति के लिए खतरा बन जाता है, अर्थात् पर्यावरण संकट बढ़ रहा है। लगातार तीव्र आधुनिकीकरण से जीवन कृत्रिम बन रहा है, और पृथ्वी के जीवन पर संकट बढ़ रहा है।इससे वैश्वीकरण घरेलू व्यापार समाप्त हो रहे है, इसके स्थान पर मशीने आ रही है| आधुनिकीकरण से लगातार तापीय उत्सर्जन और प्रदूषण बढ़ रहा है। हमारी आधुनिकीकरण की प्रक्रिया इतनी अच्छी नही है कि वह अभूतपूर्व खतरों को रोक सके। इस प्रक्रिया में हो रहे प्रयोग वृद्धि, रासायनिक क्रांति और उत्परिवर्तन गतिविधियों से कई सूक्ष्मजीवों और वायरस को जन्म दिया जाता है, जिसका ताजा उदाहरण कोरोना वायरस है| आधुनिकीकरण की एक विडंबना है कि एक तरफ विकास हुआ है तो दूसरी तरफ वर्ग-भेद, गरीबी और भुखमरी बढ़ी हैं। इसकी तीव्र प्रक्रिया में आधुनिक मूल्यों और पारम्परागत मूल्यों के बीच द्वंद्व हो जाते हैं।

"Modernization is a process of change which is mainly related to changes in the way of thinking and attitudes, increase in urbanization, increase in literacy, increase in per capita income and increase in political participation."

Modernization and Education

Modernization is the result of the changes taking place in the present education. There is a close relationship between modernization and education. It develops scientific attitude in the students. It is helpful in studying social needs and also helps in keeping society away from superstition.

Modernization develops democratic values ​​and works to emphasize the study of scientific subjects. It also serves to make education reflect the objectives of real education. Emphasis on experiential curriculum, inclusion of co-curricular activities in education etc.

Disadvantages of Modernization 

Many good things change in this modernization process. Many times such changes come, which bring danger to the society. Modernization beyond a limit becomes a threat to nature, that is, increasing the environmental crisis. Due to continuous rapid modernization, life is becoming artificial, and the crisis on the life of the earth is increasing. Due to this, globalization is ending domestic trade, machines are coming in its place. Thermal emissions and pollution are constantly increasing due to modernization. Our modernization process is not good enough to prevent unprecedented threats. Experimental growth, chemical revolution and mutation activities in this process give rise to many microorganisms and viruses, the latest example of which is the corona virus. There is an irony of modernization that on the one hand there has been development and on the other, class discrimination, poverty and hunger have increased. In its rapid process, conflicts arise between modern values ​​and traditional values.
